The galaxy is the Emperor's, and anyone or anything who challenges that claim is an enemy who must be destroyed. In this tutorial, we show you how to paint the most loyal of Astartes Chapters, The Black Templars for Warhammer 40,000 by Games Workshop. The miniatures is one of the new Primaris Crusaders Marines and are packed full of Black Templar Iconography and details. We show you how to approach painting Black Space Marine Power Armour including how to get a great edge highlight, which is quite a challenge with black. We also teach you how to paint the white pauldrons as well as all the other Grimdark 40K details that make the Black templars so awesome. Enjoy 😊

I think one of my favourite things about your tutorials is that you often give alternate or equivalent paints when listing the colours you use. It really makes a difference knowing that you're not limited to one kind of paint if you want to achieve the same or similar results.

I love how chill these tutorials are. Even when I didn't paint, I watched them to relax.

I've been looking for a BT scheme for a while that looks like a cold smooth black without having intensely blue highlights that still stands out, I think this is it :)

This scheme doesn't look quite as obnoxious as the GW version. I like this more grounded look a lot

I don't know the first thing about miniature painting or warhammer, but I just find these so relaxing to watch

Thanks for this. Between this one and the Blood Angels from a few months ago, I've really learned a lot for painting my Flesh Tearers.

This would be perfect for painting 30k dark angels I bet, especially the primarch

just grabbed the combat patrol and came right to you for this tutorial because as always it's seems like the most straightforward and level approach to painting! thanks for making this stuff available to us man! ❤

Glad to see some of the Two Thin Coats line in the tutorials. The metallic paints look great, and I'm looking forward to receiving my order next year.

Sign #536 that Duncan is indeed the paint god. At 3:42 you can see his Corax White looks pretty liquid unlike the chalky cottage cheese texture it usally has, proof of his supernatural powers over all paints and brushes

Every 5 minutes I thought "oh yeah that must be done, it looks better than anything I've done" and just kept making it look better😂

Hey Duncan.

Quick question, could you perhaps do a guide on how to paint or make chapter insignia not supported by GW. For example the carcharodons and others?

Lovely guide. I don't want to rewrite my paint guide for my Get Started series again, but I may have to steal that method for the lenses. Certainly easier than layering up to orange.

I like it that you start to have own paint. That makes the Company Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy complete. Thank you for giving me painting motivation and tipps for this hobby

Just wanted to thank you for this video, as well as others on your channel, for helping me get my black templar army started. I used to paint old world warhammer minis as a kid (with rough results), and watching your videos now motivated me to shake the rust off, learn some new techniques and get the BTs to a state I can be happy with. Cheers!
