I personally agree with Peterson in the sense that it's important to have questions clearly defined, specifically in the context of where u undergo arguments with others that have different views. I remember when my dad and grandma (who had opposing political colors) were yelling at one another on the topic of who would be a better president. My dad thought A would be a BETTER president in terms of performance. He thought A being president could make the nation stronger as he was intelligent. Meanwhile, my grandma thought B would be a great president in terms of morality. There were several mysterious deads associated with opposing sides of A and so she thought A being the president could make the nation strong but lead to death to democracy as A is not a moral person. I wanted to point out the fact that both of them were arguing over different topics to other without sounding like I knew more than them, so I asked them both, what do u guys mean by better? and after 10mins they actually agreed upon each other's thoughts and realised who being better president was not an easy problem to answer with definite yes or no. It was interesting to see that such a controversial argument could be settled so peacefully when all I did was clarify the question.

He isn’t asking for an actual definition. He is forcing the person who asked the question to re-examine the fact that their question is not coming from a place of genuine curiosity but that instead they have already made their decision and are now attempting to lead you to their way of thinking. It’s a very clever tactic.
