This scene is very cathartic for me. After my mother passed from cancer, this scene never fails to bring me to tears. Not tears of sadness, but tears of understanding of the impermanence of our world, along with all the suffering in it. Its partly tears of joy at the beauty of it as well.

was closing my office yesterday, destroying part of my “life’s work, ” & this scene gracefully came to mind, as i noticed i was surrounded by Buddhist books & Hindu tapestries & whatnot — it gave me strength, thank you 💪

just practicing impermanence as i begin the next step 🙏

And to think this piece of art takes weeks to months to create and in one minute; it is all gone deliberately to show the nature of impermanence. In our normal thinking, we want something to last ages when we work on something, especially that long.

But this scence demonstrates the nature of life--nothing ever remains permanent. Even the memories of our past leaders fall into confusion and interpretation of scholars.

Guaranteed goosebumps from start to end in this remarkable documentary.... you really need to watch in ultra HD on a big screen to appreciate more.

Hm, I begin to understand to accept sadness and happiness aren't opposites. They can't exist without each other. So, in order to find harmony, it is necessary to embrace both as equals.

This is from the movie samsara, the temporary nature of things, what's cool is the next scene is the dessert and you think of the sand dunes being created by the entities much like the monks like the universe is 3d printed.

1.Whatever you do in life, do not expect in return because nothing is permanent. 2. Carve and Enjoy every color of life before its gone.
3. Happiness or sadness, its a pair that is incomplete without each other and has no meaning without each other.

Realization of impermenance leads to non attachment. non attachment leads to blowing out the candle.

It’s about the journey, not the destination

Am I the only one who thinks it's ironic that this piece of ephemeral art has been immortalised for posterity in this movie?

The impermanence of all things in this earthly realm.
And yet many of us cling to objects and lust for more.

I have been to this very monastery, if you get a chance to go, please go. This is Thikse Gompa near Leh, a awe-inspiring but truly peaceful place.

Samsara is cruel, a hellish way of existence. To live, suffer, die and to live and suffer and die again over and over and over and over for eternity, if this is not hell, then what is? You could argue that through enlightenment one can escape this cycle, but how? Does the universe flip a switch as soon as you are enlightened, and you stop being conscious forever after you die instead of getting reborn? If you get reborn as a random person without your former memories, emotions etc, which is likely the case, there must be a source of conciousness in this existence where all are the same. So if you are part of this consciousness, but you alone as individual enlighten on this planet, how can you return to the source of conciousness if you're part of every other human soul? Does that imply that there is something like an individual soul?
