Libertarianism and Rights-Based Ethics | Intro to Ethics I

Показать описание
In this video, I accompany my current Intro to Ethics class with lectures explaining three broad and introductory ways to think about ethics. Ethics allows us to put philosophy to the test and give our real-world some more justification for why it is the way it is and how we might change it. Here, I'll be covering,
1) The philosophy behind rights-based ethics and Libertarianism
2) The process of determining if an action is right or not through a rights-based perspective.
3) Explain the Libertarian logic for three real-world examples: social welfare programs, taxes, and abortion.
This will be a three-part series accompanying my studies this semester to give you a sense not only of what these ethical approaches are but also serve as a benchmark for myself and a reference to others for what one may learn in an introductory philosophy class such as Intro to Ethics.
