Join us on the Hard Science Explained channel as we dive into the world of subatomic particles and take a closer look at the neutron. In this video, we'll explore the properties of the neutron and its role in the stability of atomic nuclei. We'll also discuss the impact of the neutron's discovery on nuclear physics research, including its use in the production of nuclear power and a variety of scientific and industrial applications. Additionally, we'll delve into the role of neutrons in the natural world and their contribution to the nucleosynthesis of chemical elements within stars.

*Thanks!*
However... The open captions are out of sync with the narration.

riddles in the dark :
Recollect me, darling, raise me to your lips
Two undernourished egos, four rotating hips
Hold on to me tightly, I'm a sliding scale
Can't endure, then you can't inhale clearly
Out of body experience interferes
And dreams of flying, I fit nearly
Surrounds me, though I get lonely slowly
pressure creeps Moving up slowly Inertia keeps Moving up slowly
I make no sound in my eider-down
Awake I lie in the morning's blue
Room is still, my antenna in you
Nylon burns the bedspread with two
Gravity's zero, see me stall
I bounce off walls, lose my footing, and fall
Can be sweet though incomplete though
And the frames will freeze, see me on all fours
It's been a long time

Industry don't pay a price that's fair All the common people breathing filthy air (Lord have mercy) Roof caved in on all the simple dreams And to get ahead your heart starts pumping schemes And it's hard to say Just how some things never change And it's hard to find Any strength to draw the line Oh, I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance (Ah, ah, ah) I'm just burnin' doin' the neutron dance.

I believe the neutron is not an elementary particle. The neutron is a "smashed" hydrogen atom. If you take a neutron out of the nucleus of an atom it will decay into an electron, a proton and an antineutrino. I believe a Proton is a "supersized" positron and was made so inside Quasars before being expelled from it. This means the antimatter of the universe is not missing, it is just misidentified as regular matter. (the Proton is antimatter because it was made from a positron which is antimatter.) So the electron and the positron are the only real elementary particles.

still can't get my mind around some particle with "1/3" charge .... now if it was .75v ya or some fraction of a volt

Crumbs. I thought you were going to tell me what a neutrino was.

Neutrons have a magnetic dipole moment and are not considered a building block particle. Neither are the protons.
The Quark Model has been debunked like 40 years ago. If the Quark model were correct the magnetic dipole moment of the neutron would be on par with the proton, but it is not.
Before the 'invention' of the neutron, the nucleus was considered to be made of electrons and protons.
The invention of the neutron was a setback in the study of the atomic nucleus.
The best way to describe the difference between a hydrogen atom and a neutron is that with a hydrogen atom, the electron and it's dielectric bubble are outside of the dielectric bubble of the proton. A neutron is where the electron is inside of the dielectric shell of the proton, but not completely neutralizing the magnetic dipole moment of the two.
