Hi Priya, nice video and good explained. Me as an average older german don´t like to go that fast anymore. My average or cruising speed on the Autobahn is something between 120 and 145, depending on the traffic stiuation flow. When I was younger and was in a hurry between meetings I went up to 250. But it is very stressfull if you´re on a longer trip (always accelerate and slowing down). You have to stay very, very, very focussed on your driving. I never had an accident or mayor incident on the Autobahn. The Autobahn is all in all much safer than other roads. So it is relatively safe. We always had and have public discussions about a general speed limit on the Autobahn. It is not because of safety, but about more about environmental protection. High speed means high fuel consumtion and CO2 emissions and fuel is very expensive in Germany btw.
At the time we have a public discussion about a general speed limit of 130km/h, so let´s wait and see.
