About us:
Our church began in Sydney in 2001 after a group of saved Bible believing baptists came together with a common desire to have a church which truly believed and taught the King James 1611 Bible is the word of God. This is because they grew weary of being in churches which just used the KJV and claimed they believed it only to have the pastors and teachers claim later it had errors and contradictions.

The group then sought out a pastor and meeting place. In a short time God provided both! The group contacted and visited Pastor John Wheat in Queanbeyan NSW who believed the Bible and had started a Bible believing Baptist church there. After this group of believers shared their heart and vision, God called Pastor John Wheat to Sydney to help establish the church there. Pastor Wheat turned the church in Queanbeyan over to a young man he had trained in the ministry and moved to Sydney where Open Bible Baptist Church was formed. God called Pastor Wheat home to heaven after pastoring the church for 10 years.

Pastor Jason Young was saved at the age of 15 and called to preach at 17. He surrendered to go to Bible school shortly afterwards and attended and graduated from Pensacola Bible Institute. Upon graduating God dealt with his heart about going to the mission field. In 2006 he came to Australia to visit and help out on the mission field. While he was there God confirmed in his heart the call to Australia. After ministering in Australia for 8 years God called him to be our Pastor in 2014.

Goliath of Gath was 6.5 cubits in height. A cubit is 18", so Goliath was 9'-9" tall. He was small for a giant. Most giants were 12-15' in height. Those giants were smaller & afraid of Gilgamesh, since he was 11 cubits (16'-5") in height, & much stronger than the others. He has a heroic tale because Gilgamesh did not resort to cannabalism of smaller humans, as well as his other feats.

Genesis 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Other giants were much bigger in size. According to 1 Enoch, they were "great giants, whose height was (300) three hundred cubits". A cubit being 18 inches (46 cm), this would make them 450 feet (140 m) tall.

He really brings a subject to life.
The Giants are always a problem for many scholars but I am pleased to see it's not a problem for him.
Enoch mentioned some anti deluvian giants as high as 2 miles in stature and as incredible as this sounds the account in Numbers 13. 33 gives us a real prospect of this being so as Enoch referred to the anti deluvian giants, although there is good reason to understand why the book of Enoch is not part of the scriptures because in it is advocated the worship of Angels, however this is hard to comprehend as Enoch walked with God and was taken by God so was this really expressed by Enoch !
Other reasons for not including the book of Enoch include the mention of portals in the firmament and maybe for these it is considered Apocrypha from the greek - Apokryptein - to hide away !
No doubt hiding the giants from history would help promote the theory of evolution and the post deluvian existance of giants is a problem for some religions because they are not teaching the scriptures as they should, even recent history has many accounts and photos or even film of giants.
But don't take anyone's word for any of this rather the next time you go to a cathedral or another old building just ask yourself why are the doors so big !

Goliath was 9.5 feet tall and he wasn't a Nephilim. He was a "Rephaim" (1 Chronicles 20:4-8) as was his brother Lahmi. The Anakim were a very tall people as well. They were the people who the Israelites mistook for the Nephilim when the 10 spies went to scout out the promised land (Numbers 14:33). The Anakim were wiped out of the land of Israel but remained in Gaza, in Gath and in Ashdod (Joshua 11:21, 22). "No" Nephilim survived the Flood of Noah's day !!! (Genesis 7:21-24). Noah and his wife and his sons and their wives, (8 People in all) along with the animals in the Ark were the only survivors of the Flood

The Giants in the days of Noah were anywhere from 100 to.200 feet tall.That's where the titans come from. The Giants of Canan were 50-60.feet tall.

Wow! It’s amazing Jesus didn’t mention anything about the Giants in this portion of scripture. The reason is, there was no fallen angels having sex and reproducing with women! Angels are spirits!
