The one thing I'm glad I haven't experienced yet in Fallout is this:

"Deathclaws communicate with each other in a pack using growls and body language, though they are also capable of mimicking human voices like a parrot if their intelligence is artificially increased."

Imagine hearing cries for help, go searching, and it's a deathclaw waiting to rip your face off.

my scariest NV moment will always be when I first played the game without patches. Seeing Doc Mitchell's slowly rotating head while he interviews you changes a man.

NV is my favorite game, but I still think FO3 is a lot scarier. Specially for new players who haven't touched a fallout game before.

The only way I have ever been able to kill that damn thing is with red glare, just hold down the trigger aim at the legs and cripple them then run for your life. Now that’s because it’s the second DLC I do so I’m like level 10 when I decide it’s a good idea to go into the divide.

I had a writing assignment in high school to write about an event in my life and being the contrarian I am figured it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to write about my experience with this particular part of lonesome road and how I dealt with the deathclaw, as it was about me playing the game, not about my character in the game. I thought it was a decent bit of writing and I think I told the story rather well, but seeing as it was in a video game and "didn't actually happen" according to the teacher, I ended up rewriting it about building a chicken coop. Lame.

I recently started up Lonesome road at level one, to beat on very hard and totally forgot about this spawn. I was soo happy for that ammo crate, just to dread the next seconds, once I realized. If memory serves, a shot of Turbo was the only thing that saved me, allowing me to leave and create distance and place explosives to cripple it while I plinked it to death with a .308 sniper rifle that I was under skilled to use. Good times🤣👌
