Conclusion

The Vontar X3 is a good box for streaming movies and TV shows. It is fast clocked at 1.9GHz on latest hardware. You can run IPTV apps on it without issues. 4K video playback is good and 3D gaming it also OK. The 1.9GHz clock speed generates a bit of extra heat, so be mindful of that. You have no navigation bar and notifications bar so use alternatives. Finally the box does not have the required DRM support to play Netflix and Amazon Prime video in HD/4K quality. They do however play up to 480p quality. The launcher's wallpaper can be changed, and alternative launchers can be used.

Another nice review Nick..but this box is underwhelming..for 2020 manufacturers should give customers something to look forward to and enjoy.. example basic should be root switch ..that should be a must have..by the way I saw 8k on the box..mmmm.. anything to make a sale..I do hope the next product from them is alot better..😁😁😁👍👍👍

Did you try installing Magisk instead? That looks like some jenky SU app that I’d uninstall immediately. I’m guessing you didn’t try Xposed either right? That’s too bad, I’m sure that box has some hidden capabilities to unleash if more time was spent hacking it. Is the boot loader locked? Does it have fastboot, adb, stock recovery installed? Is the H96Max better than this box? Specs seem identical, same S905X3, 4gb/128gb, same ports, launcher, Android 9, but listing says it can do 4K @ 60FPS. Both are similar prices too. Thorough review though bud, one of the better ones I’ve seen. Keep up the good work, you gotta new subscriber.
