We first start at the main page of Google AdWords. You will need a Google account and a YouTube video to promote in order to run a campaign. You want to click on the wrench icon in the top right hand corner and then go to Linked Accounts. Under Linked Accounts, you will see options like Google Analytics, Google Merchant Center, Google Search Console, and most importantly, YouTube. When you click on the Details button, you can then link your YouTube and Google AdWords accounts. By linking these two accounts, you can get more engagement metrics, set-up remarketing audiences, and unlock all the data & statistics you would ever need. Linking the accounts will let you know how your YouTube advertising campaigns are performing in terms of driving website clicks, conversions, new subscribers, engagements on your channel, and more.

I hope you don't mind if I ask a question - I followed your guidance and now I want to track web traffic coming ONLY from my Youtube Ad - not from organic views of my video. There doesn't seem to be a clear way to track that within the dashboard of Adwords. The video has a link in the description like yours and the link is also in the youtube cards. What's the best tip for targeting a channel in the placement section, however, I only want to target certain types of videos on the channel but I don't want to pick individual videos because I want the advertisement to constantly pick up new ones.

Hello! Thank you for your video! I was good all the way up until the end. I made the campaign and it was disapproved because of "destination mismatch". I put the preview and final url as my personalized amazon affiliate link. I do not have my own website. I even tried to just put my YouTube video link in both of those areas and they are too long to be accepted. What should I do? Thanks!

Hi. Very helpful to an AdWord newbie. If I set up separate AdWords campaigns, can I attach them to play with separate specific videos? I have two unrelated clients I am making videos (interviews) for to appear on same YouTube channel. Coincidentally, both are interested in having ads made on their own products to run in front of their interview videos. So far I have avoided AdWords and cannot easily find out if I can control it in such a specific way. Any hints would be so welcome.

One question, there is a feature i see in some ads where they add a link to their website in the video .. like app install ads where you see a button to direct you to the app page but instead a button for their website. You know where i can find this option please ?
