...another approach to the 'job completion ratio" problem is to note that if Andre does 5/6 of the job in same time that Michael does 3/4 of job, multiply each side by 4/3, yielding 1 on right side (Michael does whole job), while Andre does 5/6 x 4/3 = 20/18 = 10/9 ratio of Andre to Michael.

Richard, I just took this State Sprint test and got a 12, and I got both of these problems correct. Can you solve the harder problems please??!!

Both problems are easy. for 1, it's x+y=10 and 2x+3y=26, where y=6, and 5/6 and 3/4 to 10/9 to 1, so 10/9.
