If I'm not mistaken, Tartaros was designed by Ferrus Manus in cooperation with Guilleman. Considering, the photographic memory that all primarchs have, Robute should be able to remember every single minute detail of it's blueprints...
And I'm sorry, but "demands expensive resources" was always a stupid excuse for limited number of terminators produced, considering that the Imperium's vast extraction grids, resource worlds and asteroid harvesting... Iron hands are able to build intricate electronic bionics in their Battle Barge, but when it comes to production of terminator plates it suddenly (and for absolutely NO reason whatsoever) becomes "tO dIfFiCuLt tO mAsS pRoDuCe." This is one of the biggest plot holes in this universe...

The design was created for the badab war forge world series. I have the oroginal models. They had a crux terminus on the shoulder and a small cross on the chest. The head was not caved in however snd instead they used a halved helmet. I hacked 2 of them for converting true scale marines back in the day and keep 3 of then unassembled as a piece of history.

Id love to see a list of every chapter that still has a set of this armor. Like i know GW doesnt do that, they just say "only a few have this" but id just love to see the actual quantity left in m41

I liked when the different armors gave you different abilities, and the fact that the tartaros armor let you run down enemies when no other terminator armor did was great.

Yet somehow the Custodians still manages to craft Allarus-Pattern Terminator Armour and correct me if I'm wrong made post-heresy and are still made if only for the Custodians. Guess it helps that the makers of Custodes armour are outside of the Admech's perview and serve the Custodians directly hence why their tech degredation is slower than that of the rest of the Imperium.

I like this Armor pattern and the Cataphractii looks robust and tough but the Custodes got the Luxury Shit aka Fast moving juggernauts doing backflips and sprinting like Usian Bolt XS 10 so I guess there’s two ends of a spectrum

Hey look, there's 60 of them in that Raptors army. Half with ranged weapons and Chainfists, the others with Lightning Claws and Thunder Hammers + Shields.

I went a bit mad with these when they came out in the 10 man boxes. Boy does having blocks of them drop in 3000pt games really surprise most opponents. Shame Oath of Moment's been changed, but I will admit the Knights fell quite easy. As did Custodes, when I clapped back.

My homebrew chapter is going to be one of the few that's got 20+ readily available. Only reason being that they're a close range specialist team who's only reliable equipment in their armory is from 30k

truth be told, the reason there is not a revamped tartaros armor now is because of fans raging about how "iconic" idomitus is and how evil primaris is to firstborne, thus instead of a bettter terminators in a nu:tartaros now there is just a bigger indomitus
