Hi Scott, I have watched  this video many times and I just decided to become CCNA and later CCNP,  I now have a Cisco 871W with 2 (3750) non poe and 2 (3550) one with poe and one without poe all with IOS 12. What else do I need, because I will follow your videos to get myself ready to pass the CCNA

Is a setup like this doable with an existing home network that has its own router/modem? I'd love to do this once I can afford cheap gear since my current job doesn't give me the relevant experience, but I also have housemates who rely on the Internet at home. I don't want to screw up our network for everybody.

Great video! Is this still relevant in 2017? I am a beginner wishing to build a Cisco lab but don't know where to start.

i have a CCNA home lab too with 3x 2960 switches and 3x 1841 routers. the question I have is what cables should I buy to get the best experience possible with my equipment? right now I only have DB9 serial to RJ45 cable for configurations and a few CAT5 straight through cables for connecting switches to routers. What other cables would you recommend I add that I may not only need to now for CCNA but other cables I may run into on an actual job that I don't have in my lab? I feel just 2 different cables is not enough as I'm looking on YouTube videos at other peoples labs and seeing like 3 or 4 different cables. thanks

cisco needs to be like 90% hands on.  Im finishing cisco 1 and we hardly did hands on, it was mostly theory shit .-.
