It's like the Finder Scope on an astronomical telescope.

Dope card and my tacticle scope for my rifle is more effective in live competition. Red Dot for me belongs in the spotting scope.

It’s because people don’t know how to look down and scope you keep both eyes open and that’s what people don’t do they look down on it close there one night and then they can’t find the target as fast as easily as if they are both eyes open so it really doesn’t matter it doesn’t really help that much because you can do it if you know how to properly look down the site

Absolutely good for it, in use mine for that. Now my farm riffle is use my 45 red dot for close moving pests that i cant track easily with the main scope

anyone who's played shooting video games already knows why this makes sense. scopes are great for honing in, but terrible for finding targets

I was going to mount a reflex sight on my thirty-ought-six carbine not really for this reason, but I'm in the brush a lot. I figured it would be easier for the reflex sight tight quarters in the brush then the scope.

It is great for allowing quicker target pickup but it's also great for those moments out hunting, or whatever else it is you may be doing when a target presents itself up close and you're dialed into 10X.

Easy enough just stare at the target and put scope in front of eye you’ll be on target every time.
