I am reviewing this puzzle because I am very impressed with the production of it and its quality. I will first of all declare that I do have an occasional relationship with the company and have done work for them in the past but I am receiving no incentive to write this beyond receiving a review copy of the puzzle. I have been collecting puzzles of this type for 55 years, ever since I had a small plastic one with square number tiles as a child in the early 1960s. Initial inspection quickly shows that this item is very nicely designed and is of beautiful quality. The challenge is simple enough for a very small child to understand, and challenging enough for even experienced puzzlers to enjoy. The object is to slide the large block down to the gap at the bottom edge. This is surprisingly challenging, and as there are several different starting positions there are almost unlimited possibilities for this. I have many different versions of this puzzle in my collection, but I fully believe that this is the most tactile and enjoyable version currently available. It is a beautiful item to hold, and slide, whenever you feel like a challenge. It is an attractive item to leave on a coffee table ready for an unsuspecting guest. The frame is beautifully made, the blocks slide very smoothly, and the intricate design on the pieces are a pleasure to admire.

just bought one as I like oriental history and wooden games. I just played the plastic numbered version as a kid. in 70s. I am hoping to use this while waiting for the train and in waiting rooms.
