There was a radio station out on Long Island back in the 50s/60s that played nothing but McRae recorded music.
Kinda like William B. Williams who played Sinatra recordings exclusively every afternoon from WNEW in the Big Apple. Can't say any of these great singers were favorites of mine in a time of a heavy downtown jazz scene at Slugs, the Blue Note, Village Vanguard, the Village Gate, etc.; and Birdland and the scene around Times Square. Jazz clubs everywhere. William B., who had a great on air voice, was one of the best jocks of his time, kindly, responsive to listeners and fans. Who knew it would be over so soon!
