I just went through this a few days ago. My two young Florida Home Pear trees were pretty much destroyed. The only one that made it was the Kieffer Pear tree. I hope your trees make a full recovery!

This happened to my tree a few years ago. I thought it was just too much sun. Clipped and kept moving. Now, I know. I was working then and the pears were for the squirrels. Now, they are for me. Thank you.

I read on line that spraying the tree with vinegar and water mixture after getting rid of the brown foliage will help. I treated mine and so far so good! Keep on fighting!👍

T noticed you cut your branch 6 inches below the infection. Sorry but you need to cut 2 feet below that. When you cut those 6" what the core of the branch looks like. If you see a dark center you can tell how far down it's gone. It's a young tree, no sweat to pull it out. But.. There's something I wrote about this..See I bring this up because of something I became aware of because I'm aware. I went to a box store early last month. To my surprise they had fruit trees for sale. They were still in the plastic wrap. I figured yeah for me. Plastic wrap is also good to raise the humidity. These trees a grown hydroponically using an ebb and flow system. Their fed strong mined nutrients to fast grow them. . Nutrients strong in Nitrogen. So right there are the three things needed for Fire Blight. Add this gem to that mix. There was a dead tree from Fire Blight sitting in that wrap with what suppose to be healthy trees for now. But they didn't open that wrap for another two weeks. That tree was "COMPLETLY" burned up. It means that everybody from the bottom up didn't give a shit either by knowledge or design and was just passing it along. When I first started hydroponics I was shocked by the waste of water everybody else seem comfortable with. That put me on the 35yr path I'm walking now. So before I step higher on this Soap box back to Fire Blight. The system the tree is grown in is different from the one your growing in. Which is why they keep saying water, water. The trees get bloated. The ph of your fertilizer force feed the trees and it can't stop the bacteria that causes it. The less water in the trees the more protection the cells have. Even tho my trees sit in buckets of water there's no ph factor so the tree regulates it's own torpor pressure thru out the tree. It's more wordy than that but it means added defense against it.

If that Bartlett doesn't work for your area then consider chopping it down to a stump and grafting a variety more suitable for your climate.

Try using wood ash from the grill otr fire pit to dust the trees. I used it went my moringa started to get powdery mildew. Wood ash knocked it right out.

I am so confused and upset all at the same time. My tree (abour 15ft tall) is LOADED with pears but I have no doubt it is "infested" with fire blight. Last year the birds got every pear before I could even taste one but this year....even the birds are staying away! UUUGGGHHH ...the cut back on my tree will be REAL...like almost no branches left type of real! Thank you Leadfarmer73
