Apple was built off the back of simplicity. The iPhone didn’t need a manual to show you how to use it because it was, simple. Thats the same philosophy they seem to be taking with the banking blueprint, one card tied to one account accessible on your device at any time that includes a comprehensive hub available to you whenever you like. Spend, save, invest etc all from one place. These banks have partnerships with multiple other industries and companies and interests from vendors. This brings real and easy competition into a market that’s been pretty dominated by a handful of players for decades.

Banks have a more and more regulation. Apple wants to offer banking without being a bank hence the partnerships.

Apple Pay also 'hides' your CC information, thus keeping you safe/safer from CC fraud. That's a very important feature you failed to mention.
