Many people are annoyed after finding out that McDonald's fired one of their staff, who bought firefighter's food.

What is the update on this girl who did the right thing and got fired for it? Stupid McD's. I stopped going to them years ago. I hope someone had the cajones to find her and give her a job that pays enough that she only needs to work one job. She sure deserves it!

This is horrible! Firefighters risk their lives everyday, and then have to support a family (Depending if they have one.) And this kind woman did something that a lot of people wont, and loses her god damn job for it! Unbelievable!

I hope she's had some job offers. This woman ought to be like a regional manager or something even higher up. Clearly she knows how to handle PR and seems genuine at the same time which is pretty rare. Hats off salute to the firefighters and this fine woman.

Mc Donalds are super tight .. here is a short story . Down here in Australia, there was this girl who was working at mc donalds, and one night she ate a cheese burger or something that was going to be thrown out . the manager found out and called the police.... she was charged with' stealing as a servant '  fired and had to appear in court . The judge said she had suffered enough and no conviction or penalty was imposed on her. Just for eating a hamburger that was going to be thrown out .. unreal to say the least. she could have got a warning or something..

The fast food company that I used to work for, routinely gave Police and Firefighters free, or greatly discounted food. It was our way of saying "Thank you" for what they do. The first responders didn't abuse the treatment either. They felt thankful, not entitled.

Here's the thing. It was perfectly fine for her to pay for the firefighter's order. It was actually a really good thing, and if it ended there, everything would be ok. But it wasn't cool to expect her employer to pay for something she did. They're not obligated to pay, and they're not bad for not paying. The reason she got fired, is because she brought negative attention to the business that wasn't warranted. The firefighter's who complained are partially at fault, since they had no right to complain to the business for getting free food. She initiated the gesture, and she should own that.

Just think logically, if she wanted someone else to take responsibility for her gesture, then it wasn't a generous act from her heart anyway, since she expects others to pay for it. If Mc D's paid, the gesture would no longer be her's, but she would still try to claim it. Yet the firefighters are on her side. They got it backwards. The girl got what she deserved, but she still has the white knight firefighters kissing her ass, when she's really a bitch who doesn't care about them at all.  

OR - She's a 23 year old, single mother of twins, working two jobs. She bit off more than she can chew by offering to pay for an order she couldn't afford, so looked to the company to pay. She still wrong for expecting that, and if she just admitted she made an error, it might not be so bad. Though instead of learning from the mistake, she continues to trash her employer. So still a bitch.

I believe in creative bad ass management! :D This is where Military Special Operations Team Members should pay a visit to this McDonald's Manager and make them a believer in the fact that abusing their power is the wrong thing to do and then leave the manager bare ass naked on the freeway in the middle of the night.

You know, it's funny, I work for a company that is a huge part of the community and we think nothing of it, to give away some free samples as a way of not only promoting our product, but plainly sharing with our neighbours and friends.  And guess what?  We are almost as big as McD's, so you can't tell me that they can't afford to be generous.  ESPECIALLY with the very people that protect us and save our lives, WHENEVER we need them!!!  Shame, shame, shame.  If that girl needs a job, we are an equal opportunity employer with room for career advancement.  McD's seems to advance their employees right out the door when they are compelled to be HUMAN BEINGS.  Boycott.  Wendy's is better by a mile, anyway.

It was mandatory when I worked at Taco Bell. You were required to give cops, firemen, and EMT's one free meal per person per day.

She wasn't fired for giving the food to them. She was fired because when some cops came in later asking for the same deal and she asked the manager if the store would pick up the bill this time, the manager said no. She then told the manager off.
