As someone that specializes in additive manufacturing as part of my career, you should really look into more robust manufacturing methods as in the long-run, it becomes faster and cheaper than the 3D printing. Injection molding is the next step.

As cool as 3D printing is, right now the plastic version is left mostly to prototyping.
