I eat the eyes out of fish all the time and it takes some time getting used to. Thing is, you're supposed to the eat the squishy jelly part that makes up most of the eye by removing the hard frame and really digging in there. That hard part in the middle is like the pupil or something and doesn't get eaten. You eat everything that's under it
