Hi Anna, I'm from Brazil and I'm a Portuguese native speaker. In my language we speak "Obrigado!" or "Muito obrigado!" I got really impressed knowing that "Much obliged" is a mean to say thank you in English, too. That's the exact literal meaning of the Portuguese form.

I think the phrase I may have heard the most since I moved to London a year ago is "Cheers mate", lol.
