I’m amazed no one else pointed out the fact that this man can fly lord knows how fast, and yet he chose to walk up the mountain. That in itself speaks volumes.

"Did the nightmares ever stop?" That line proves he harbours enormous guilt

"Your grandma baked me a cake"
'your grandma'...not 'my mom'.
It's subtle but it really gets across that Jonathan thought of Clark as his son in the little ways

My father died less than five months before this movie was released in theaters. This scene made me cry uncontrollably.

"Your grandma baked me a cake"
"When I met your mother"
I love this portrayal of Jonathan Kent. He really loved Clark like his own son. He was his son.

Notice the way each key member prepared for the finale

Batman trained his body
He worked out

Lex trained his mind
Learnt from the wreckage

Superman trained his spirit
Goes to clear his mind to find his purpose and the will to prepare himself

Zack Snyder and Chris Terrio are truly legendary story tellers

''did the nightmares ever stop?'' ''yeah...when I met your mother...she gave me faith that there's good in this world, she was
my world.'' EMOTIONAL GOOSEBUMPS!

"He can see the mountain's not passable. He's come to die."
That's a metaphor for what's to come. One of the themes of BvS was death.

This is one of the most beautiful scenes I have seen in any comicbook movie.

I consider myself hard to tear up. But there’s a few scenes in this movie alone that get the eyes watery.

If I could climb a mountain and see my dad again, you couldn’t stop me from trying. ❤️

"When I met your mother."
*YOUR* mother.
Fuck, dude. The amount of love Jonathan and Martha Kent felt for Clark really hits home every time I see scenes with them, you can practically feel it. It reminds me of my parents and I start to tear up. I don't think any portrayal of superhero parents will ever top these two, they're the most realistic and loving I've ever seen.

Is it a ghost?
Is it a memory?
Is it a conversation with yourself?
Its however you perceive it to be, and its genius

This makes me wish Jor-El had a cameo too, but of course this is fantastic. The feels hit when Clark says "I miss you too dad."

"While I ate my hero cake, their horses were drowning. I used to hear them wailing in my sleep." Such a haunting, yet realistic line that perfectly describes what the world is like.

Severely underrated movie.

Can’t believe people still think Superman is “boring” or “stale”. This scene shows that Superman really is human and that his character gets really deep.

This scene is pure GOLD. I never liked Superman until now with Henry Cavill, not even Christopher Reeve, a personal taste perhaps. The acting on this piece of the film and the music, feels so real, like if you really miss your dad and vice versa. Amazing.

"You just have to decide what kind of a man you want to grow up to be, Clark; because whoever that man is, good character or bad, he's... He's gonna change the world."

This scene is touching because this is the motivation he wishes his dad could give him.

Clark reaches the top
Clark: "Dad?"
Jonathan: "Son?"
Clark: "What are you doing here?"
Jonathan:"The tornado took me up into air and just dropped me here. I've been stacking rocks ever since..."
Clark just stares in confusion
