Directed by Zack Snyder and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the film is a follow up to 2013's Man of Steel and is the second installment in the DC Extended Universe. It was written by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer, and features an ensemble cast that includes Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Gal Gadot. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the first live-action film to feature Batman and Superman together, as well as the first live-action cinematic portrayal of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash. In the film, criminal mastermind Lex Luthor manipulates Batman into a preemptive battle with Superman, whom Luthor is obsessed with defeating.

The general public is concerned over having Superman on their planet and letting the "Dark Knight" - Batman - pursue the streets of Gotham. While this is happening, a power-phobic Batman tries to attack Superman. Meanwhile Superman tries to settle on a decision, and Lex Luthor, the criminal mastermind and millionaire, tries to use his own advantages to fight the "Man of Steel".

Batman's entire character arc in this film is about him becoming a hero again. He's introduced here as the monster, the devil in the shadows. Taking down criminals not to save these women, but for a lead on Kryptonite so he can destroy Superman. The murder of Robin by The Joker and watching Superman's battle with Zod destroy Metropolis has broken him. He feels powerless against a cruel world he can't control any longer, and that rage has turned a good man cruel. He now kills to defend himself and other people, and brands the most heinous criminals to condemn them. Cold-blooded murder will be his final step. When he hears Superman use (what he thinks is) his dying breath to beg him to save his mother, he finally sees that he has become the villain. It's not about their mothers having the same name. It's about Batman realizing that he is no different than the monster who killed his parents and created him. In throwing down the spear and saving Superman's mother, he also saves himself. Anyone who looks at that entire scene and sees nothing but a shitty Step Brothers meme, they wrote BvS off before it was even filmed. They already hated it because they didn't like Man of Steel, or they don't like Zack Snyder, or they don't like the idea of DC having their own Cinematic Universe. God forbid that a film actually have subtext instead of lame quips and long-winded explanations.

I watched the Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Cut I watched made the movie 10 times better! 98% of all the plot holes have been fixed and more character development for Superman/ Clark Kent. Also gave a better reason for Superman not liking Batman. Lex literally plotted everything which makes him such a greater villain in this movie and it makes way more sense for Doomsday to be in the film now. He had planned everything since the begining to end of the movie. We only saw half of what he planned in the theatrical release. So it makes perfect sense for him to have another ace up his sleeve. Which is why some added dialogue right before the Doomsday scene he says "he doesn't know how to lose." Doomsday was plan B for if Batman lost. The Ultimate Edition is a 9.5 to me easily now! They have added more blood in this version also. You will be pissed that they didn't put this version in theaters.

Why wasn't this the trailer?!! Gives a completely different feel for the entire movie, yet doesn't reveal anything ....

1. Name of the song: None Shall Live from Two Steps from Hell.
2. R Rated because they add more violence scenes, film will be more brutal making it a soft R.
3. New character is suppose to be Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl.
4. It is suppose to change the entire film back in April the editing dude said that it is not just extra 30 minutes is rearrange of scenes so it is basically a different movie and more cohesive storyline.
5. They did not release this version maybe because of greed. The extra time means less viewings per day which means less money and the R rating would have restrict the audience to adults only which, again; means less money.
