I hate no hate towards JJ, I think he has an incredible basketball mind, and clearly knows the game. When you look at the optics though, how many former African American players get this opportunity? I love Steve Nash as a player, but he was also given an opportunity with no HC experience.

Phil Jackson never really coached a team. He managed players. This is very much the same like when Jordan wanted Jackson to manage. The US just had a president with no political experience and this is cookies and cake to compared to that. And notice, certain people do not need experience for high level positions and other people do.
