I said this 3 months ago to my mom who was listening to a gospel station. I want to worship not hear about bills due or falling on hard times I want to lift up my father!

I am on the worship team at my church and these are my EXACT sentiments. It grieves my heart every time we worship because worship music has become about us and what God has done as oppose to who HE is. His character! Just in awe of HIM!

Wow I'm a worship leader in church and I feel exactly the same. I even started singing rather the old Hymns rather than the music of today. JESUS SAID you have to die to self. When people in church speak it's all about ME ME ME. Where is God in the churches

Worship is so much more than singing songs! The sacrifice of the mass is the highest form of worship.

Exactly people try to make it all about
“what God can do for me” but make it more about “What can I do for God” if we want him to serve us we must serve him.

Part of what drew me to the Catholic Church when I was 17 was how reverent it was. Everything was about worshiping God from the beginning to the end of mass. Which is something I didn’t find when I was going to big evangelical church’s. I’m happy to see our siblings in Christ seeing this too and experiencing that yearning to profess God’s glory. :)

this is what my dad says he doesn’t love about worship music. he agrees that it should be all glorifying to God and less about ourselves. glad to see that others feel the same way!

As a former protestant worship leader and who became an Orthodox Christian priest, I encourage you all to look into the early church who throughout the service you hear about this constantly from the psalms hymns etc. Not a shot but an encouragement

I recently had an experience where I was just feeling down on myself and whining about stuff that doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things but that was all I could think about. I was in church and I forgot that I had a planning meeting for the youth and I was suppose to be conducting. I immediately felt frustrated and tired of doing all these things when all I wanted to do was rest and be alone. As soon as I started the meeting I had this thought in my head, “Stop worrying about yourself.” That was all I need to recognize that I don’t have it bad at all. I’m living an incredibly blessed life and god is the reason for that. He is the one who has given me incredible gifts and blessing. Sometimes we just need a reminder. I sat in that room and looked at all the people around me and realized I knew the trials that each person was going through. We have it good if we stop to realize that god is in every aspect of our life. He love and knows me just like he loves and knows every single one of you. Remember god as often as you can.

I totally agree!! Tired of hearing how someone is going through something when all it takes is acknowledging the I AM THAT I AM FOR WHO HE IS and resting in knowing who HE IS. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TOO HARD FOR GOD.
