Alhamdulillah... exactly the advice I need...
"Leave the sin immediately and build your good deeds gradually " ...that's profound ...

I have this problem, im so glad i saw this video walhamdulilah. For me its like a disease of constantly overcompensating to where i burn out. And i still feel guilty. Its the same with my life/work balance.

The Prophet saws said : "No one overburdens themselves with the religion (going to extreme with religion) except that the religion will defeat him. "

He (saws) actually advised us to go moderately, because we don't want to be among the people who used to do something but can't anymore.

The best deed to Allah is not the big, extravagant one, it's the one that is consistent.

Abu Bakr Siddiq gave all of his wealth for the sake of the deen, same of Omar Ibn Al Khattab and Muhammad saws praised that.
However, the Prophet saws stopped people for giving all of their wealth because it is such an unreasonable standard.

Abu Tal'ha wanted to give his best garden after knowing that we should give what is beloved to us, but the Prophet saws said it would be better if you kept it for your family.

May Allah reward you with immense good for this beneficial advice and may He make your institute a beacon of hope for those who struggle in their faith and beacon of light for other Islamic Institutes that are emerging. Ameen.

Exactly, after i returned to Allah, because of my past sin, i know i had so many things to catch up, i over exaggerated in ibadah until almost faint and got sick several times. 🤣🤣🤣 Now that i recall that and listen to this, i had face palm..

Assalamu Alaikum: here is the evidence that Islam is a middle of the road religion, so let us avoid extremism🙏🏽

Jazakallahukhair this is really awesome, practical advice!
I think there is a particular tendency to become over-zealous in faith after having performed hajj/umrah or some other awesome religious undertaking. I am so grateful that one of the first things I did after returning from hajj was to listen to Sh. Omar Suleiman's talk last year post-hajj which emphasised setting those reasonable goals and working your way up. It is SO true that we feel a sense of defeat after failing to reach unreasonably lofty goals and I need to be better at identifying what is reasonable for me.

Ameen to your duas and may Allah swt make us all of the righteous.
