I love Ted Lasso but some things in the show are unrealistic. Here’s what I noticed in Season 3 Episode 4: Big Week

Key talking points:

Fans in the Pub: We’ve seen the Richmond supporters watching on from the pub in previous episodes too. However, if this game was a 3:00PM kickoff on a Saturday, it wouldn’t be shown in the UK due to blackout restrictions!

Stadium Scoreboard: The seconds were counting up even after the game reached 90 minutes (and after 45 in the first half). I’ve never seen this happen before!

Matches Played: Does anyone know how many games have been played? The commentator said it was 6 wins in a row. Richmond’s social media said West Ham was match #7. The office whiteboard said 6 Wins 1 Draw.

Depending on the scoreboard they use it will add the extra time during the match. The 3 pm rule was suspended during Covid when they probably wrote this, If they counted a cup match it wouldn't be shown in the table

Some pubs do show 3 o clock games. They use different foreign channels to find them

Given that Richmond had just been promoted to the Premier League they would be subject to playing in the 2nd Round of the Carabao Cup so the extra game on the whiteboard and social media that wouldn’t be on the league table is from that competition.
It is usually held between gameweeks 3 and 4 so in this case, they must have beaten Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.

In the UK lots of pubs use their streaming services for 3PM games but the rest I agree

There are some grounds where they show the minutes in added time but it is very uncommon. I went to a League One match somewhere this season where they do it but I can't remember which club it was.

They go over 90 at villa, u know at the Everton v. Villa in the EFL, I went to it it was sad that we lost

Tbh the first point can be wrong. Pubs sometimes use Irish aerials to get around the 3pm law.
