Consumers faced with car insurance rate increases in California

Consumers are seeing rate increases on their car insurance and having difficulties finding a company that will take them on here in California.

A Rancho Cordova woman was shocked when she looked at her car upcoming car insurance bill.

"They were going to raise it more than double than what I was originally paying," said Christina Habib. "I was like, 'Oh my God, that can't be right,' so I went home and I opened up GEICO again and I was like, 'No, that is what's really going on.'"

We are safe drivers and don't have any speeding tickets or accidents and the car is only three years old. We only have one car and State Farm still increased our rate to $150 over 6 months. "Inflation" seems to be the new excuse to increase company profits these days.

They're not writing new homeowners insurance policies due to wildfire/climate risk, so they have to make their money somehow.
