Somebody hits you, you claim off them, but your premium goes up.

Somebody uninsured hits you, you claim of your own insurance, your premium goes up.

Your car gets stolen, your premiums go up

You buy a 2.0litre from a 1.2litre your premiums go up

You can have 0 accidents in 10 years, you move house, your premiums go up

And this is enforced by law. Any business in the world has to fight for customers accept car insurance. Imagine owning a pizza shop and theres a law that forces people to buy pizza atleast 2x per week.

I got forced off the road, someone cut into my lane, I swerved and left the road, about £600 in damage. Had it on dashcam, the police got him and he got a driver awareness course. The insurance company didn't want to know, because I didn't plough into them, they said it would be my fault. Utterly ridiculous.

We had a car right off, car was parked up and a lorry went down the side off it.. insurance company pushed for us to claim everything. Child seat was on the opposite side and untouched - they told us they would send us £200 instantly to buy a new one, they asked/ suggested us to fraudulently claim "was there anything on the seat that got damaged, any electronics a phone or laptop maybe?"
We didn't claim for anything and ironically had to fight them for a decent price for the market value of the car as ours had really low milage yet they where consistently offering us way under the market value.. so they push for extra claims yet want to minimise their offer for your write off..

My car was parked and involved in a hit and run. They smashed into the side and caused £3500 worth of damage. The insurers said because I can’t prove he did it I’d either have to pay or my premiums would increase. Police did bugger all and said there was no cctv in the car park. They said and I quote “maybe you should’ve thought before parking there” 😡

My friends was involved in an accident where he was smacked from behind, no fault of his in the slightest. His insurance policy has went up £970 this year! The insurance said “although it’s not your fault, you have been involved in an accident”. Ridiculous!!!

I’m 55 full no claims, no points etc. I went to renew my Japanese import 3.5 v6 Nissan and the price doubled from last year. I changed to a different company and got it back to the same price. They are just trying to rip us off!!

My mum got hit by an uninsured driver, person drove away had the plate and stuff. Police basically said they couldn't do anything as they didnt catch them when it happened and the insurer was like we can fix it but it'll affect your insurance. So she ended up having to pay for the repair herself.

Enterprise is such a shady company, we rented a car from them after our car was written off (parked in a carpark someone in a Taycan ran into it). When the car was due to be returned they couldn't process our return, so they said we could hold onto it and use it until the issue was resolved on their end. Two days later we call back, they suddenly don't have any record of the car they lent us. I immediately knew something dodgy was going on so I called my insurance company. Half an hour later Enterprise called to say they would come and pick up the car!
