Lorcan here, despite the wobbly feet of the torque ragdoll, I think I can say it was worth taking the time away from development to finally do this video. I've been sitting on all this footage of ragdoll experiments, driving family members crazy going on about Torque and force driven such and such, that's it's good to finally use it for something.

Anyway, back to developing 'Days With Dino', hopefully I can get that developed over the next two months, thinking it would be good to make another video about what I learn making a basic open world with ragdolls when that's done.

If this video helps anyone make any active ragdolls, be sure to comment a link below, it would be great to see, especially if anyone can make a cleaner Torque system. Really hoping I can find a excuse to spend the time researching that further.

I personaly had the best experience with torque based character they are smooth for me and way easier to use

I made a rudimentary one in Godot 2D, no animations, just a ragdoll that tries to stay upright and acts like a kinda mediocre platformer controller

Would it be a good approach to have both torque driven and force driven? And lower the weight of the torque driven forces when knocked around

I've messed around with torque drivens, and one thing I found annoying is that while it does copy the controller, the controller's animations aren't physically Accurate and the ragdoll falls eventually, especially under the weight of all the body parts. I'm not too sure how they are kept upright once that's done.
