If you're morning fast, break the fast with protein and a fruit (i do whey ) . ~3 hours later get your big meal, depends when you train though and and right before the fast window closes get some greek yogurt or eggs just like Kino said. You can't go wrong with this.

.82 grams would be the minimum and for the average person who doesn't train. Demands go up when protein degradation increases. But....he is right concerning lean mass vs fat mass. If you're 160lbs but have a high degree of body fat, than it doesn't stand to reason that you need a 160 grams of protein a day. That being said, you may want to stay on the safe side and utilize the 1 gram rule, particularly if your trying to maintain a specific micronutrient value and plan on using a low carb approach, or even a low fat approach as is used by Renaissance Periodization for cutting. And the source of protein is also important due to the amino acid profile that differes from various sources. Steak has a better profile than peas, for instance.
