Minimoog Shootout. Behringer Model D vs Arturia Analog Lab Mini vs Moog Subsequent 37

For a simple Moog Mini Funk Bass patch, Behringer Model D, Aurturia Mini, and Moog Subsequent 37 can sound identical. The Sub 37 is far more flexible and capable of doing much more than Funk Bass. But you can't beat a great funk bass patch.

Just to set the record straight, I listened to the man himself, Robert Moog, interviewed before he passed away in 2005 and he was very clear & precise about the pronunciation of his last name. He declared that it "rhymed with the magazine...'. So you all can go ahead and call the instruments that he designed whatever you like I guess, but one way will be correct and the other way will be wrong. And that's that.

I don't think it's fair to compare the hardware here with Analog Lab. Analog Lab is more a presets bundle, with limited editability. A fairer comparison would be the standalone Mini V, or even the V Collection, in terms of overall cost

Well, initially I thought: meeehhh, they all sounds the same. But next, I just figured out there are some minor differences. Moog Subsequent 37 has some sweetness in the sound and it has this sub-bass with very slow attack. When you holding the note I hear how the sub-bass slowly raised up on Moog. Arturia Analog Lab sounds grumpy to me :-) Behringer sounds just a little boring.

They're in the same ballpark but really the A sounded dull, B was crispier and C sounded like the real deal with more balls to it, though higher volume definitely played a part.

I would love to have a Moog but I do not have the funds yet. What is similar in sound to the sub 37 that comes with keys in one unit, but with bigger keys than the Microfreak?

Great video! Congratulations on the Moog! Excellent comparisons of all these synth options.

Bob seemed like an awesome guy. I love how he managed to connect the spiritual and cosmic world to that of electronics, ultimately combining them into musical instruments that the world gets to benefit from. I was particular moved by the scene where he was talking about instinctively "feeling" the sounds through the electronics as he built the instruments. He was a genius on so many levels.

Cheers!

There is kind of weird feeling: when I'm listening your comparison demo I'm thinking about a girl been working as a waitress in a cocktail bar when I met her. I picked her out, I shook her up and turned her around, turned her into someone new. Is it Ok or what? 8-)))

Behringer is only slightly better than arturia but the moog is on another level. get the arturia and save to get the moog. behringer is not worth.

Exactly... It's not a Mogue, it's a Moog. Good video.
