I’m an air traffic controller in Atlanta. Not in the tower, though — I’m a radar controller in a different place. It is the best job I’ve ever had. I have my days like everyone else. Shift work certainly isn’t fun and I’ve certainly missed my fair share of Saturday nights & holidays over the years. But it is meaningful work that also ends at the end of your shift and that is one of the best parts. I’m not taking a bag home full of work and I’m not answering my phone unless I want to. I do my job, I get in my car, and I watch work get smaller in my rear view mirror.

I'm a retired security officer and part of my career I spent working as a contract screening officer at Hartsfield during the mid to late 90s., back then we had 55, 000 personnel working and working weekends and the period leading up to a major holiday was insane. Once you work at Hartsfield it's in your blood. We used to call heavy traffic periods at the domestic security checkpoints" cattle Rush", and your secret weapon was having a good sense of humor

My dad is a pilot for delta on the 737, and used to be based out of Atlanta on the md-88. Cannot explain how much I love Atlanta. Plane spotters paradise

I feel like all people who are terrified of airports and planes need to watch this so they really realize how rare it is to have an accident or literally die on a flight. Every day you risk your life TERRIBLY driving a car, but you're quite safe on a plane and the Atlanta airport is so efficient and helpful. I travel to Atlanta every year and I just adore going to the airport and being on a plane. It just represents inner confidence and freedom like never before.

This is amazing! My son is a captain at Spirit Airlines, and Atlanlta is his home base. He has never told me much about the inner workings going on at the airport! Just wait until he gets home this week. I'm going to pick his brain even more. Wonderful video! Thanks to the person(s) responsible for making this video available to the general public.

I cannot imagine running a more complicated organization than an airline. There are so many things that can go wrong that it's incredible that things go right as often as they do.

My son works for Delta and has worked different jobs at Atlanta. Worked ground control at La Guardia before that, MIA and Ft. Lauderdale. Started as a contractor to Delta in the Keys. Worked his way to Delta in Atlanta. Proud Mom.

one of the best and most informative documentaries i've EVER seen. loved seeing all the departments which I never knew about before, and all the interviews of the "average" workers which are so vital for an airport to run. great stuff

Just had a connecting flight from Jacksonville (FL) to Denver (CO), (May 29). Had about 40 minutes to get off in Terminal A and get on next plane in Terminal T. We Took the train. It ran very smoothy. They had already started the boarding process. We made the flight and our bags were tagged with a Rapid Transfer tag attached to the flight # tag. Everything worked very well and I have to say after watching this video on Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport I am very impressed. They may be the World's Busiest Airport, but every time I have flown thru the airport I have never lost a bag or that it did not make its connection. Great Work by all the men and women who work there to make sure we all get where we are going safely. I for one am a very happy and satisfied customer.
I love Delta and wish that Denver Intl Airport was a hub for them. We prefer them over any other domestic carrier. Keep up the great work. The behind the scenes video was just fascinating to see how they are able to keep everything on schedule is just amazing.

We have been through this amazing airport more than a dozen times in the past 18 months. We never had a problem and are loyal Delta Airlines customers.
What a fascinating video!

This is why I never complain about flying. Delayed... whatever. I'm going to get to fly in the sky! The people that make it happen are awesome!
