I have a question. while plugging in the speakers themselves, to take advance of all the power, would you plug a few to the receiver (preamp) and a few to the amp? or plug em all to the dedicated amp?

Thank you for explaining. Sir. If I understood you. I would say, if I have to use the 12volts option to power the main amp, then, I do not need to plug in its original power cord to the AC power outlet. I'm I, right? The 12-volt only is enough. Right?
Secondly, to transfer sound from the preamp to the main amp All you need to do is, connect preamp out to the main amp in the selected input source, right?

Good video but I was hoping you would talk about speaker connection. You would connect speakers to the amp instead of leaving them connected to the integrated? Also, Is there a way to connect a tube pre-amp to an integrated receiver? I have a Yamaha RXA780 and wanted to see if it would be possible to add a Schiit Freya+ into it instead of having to buy an amp.

So i have a marantz receiver which is 100w per channel. And a 5.1 system. Recently brought a new set of speakers. Which are more than 150(surrounds)-300(tower)W speakers. Im guessing it's better to add a power amp. But i don't want throw out my old speakers. Can I just leave the current system in the standard outs, and connect the new system to the pre-out with a power amp? So that I can use both. If not how can I use both

My new Rotel RC 1590MKII has 2 left and 2 right preouts. My amp is an Emotiva XPA 3 channel. How do i connect the preamp to the amp to play the 3rd channel as my center speaker? (2-KEF Q950, 1-KEF Q650) The Onkyo TX -RZ50 receiver that i am replacing had the center channel preout included.

I own a pair of relatively inefficient speakers. Powering them is a challenge.
I currently have 2 mid line preamps &
2 -70 watts pet channel amps. I am thinking about adding 1 more power amp to my rig. Can I daisy chain another amp? How do I hook it up? Thanks!

The 2 vintage power amps that I purchased together are the McIntosh MC122.
I want to hook them up to a modern midline integrated amplifier similar in quality & features to a current Rotel integrated amplifier. So, those there are 2 amps that I want to daisy chain together.

Thanks

I have a good question for ya- I listen to "all channel stereo" often for music on my 7.2.2 setup. Would adding a second amp for the front two tower speakers be a smart move... considering they are capable of much more power?

Could you make a video that shows you how to test the "pre-amp" output of a subwoofer plate amp? There are many amplifiers floating around online that range from 25 watt to 2500 watt and they all require a specific voltage input from a pre-amp board. If people knew how to measure the output of their "subwoofer plate pre-amp" because they blew the power amp part. It would be a huge video if you could teach that in a simplistic way. I realize it's not that simple, but it wouldn't be hard to give the basics.

The question is when the amp is finaly connected, is it possible to control the audio of the speakers connected to the amp, with the receiver? Like bass, volume etc.

You said everything but the one thing I need...if on the receiver you plug in pre out then on preamp do you plug into pre in or pre out?

Thanks for the easily understandable knowledge of this, I learned more from this one video than I have from months of trawling YouTube and google. No jobbie jargon, straight into it and to the point. I’m new to all this world of AV, Dolby, HDR etc Ive just found out that I needed a specific HDMI cable (2..1 with eARC) to get real Atmos. It’s a slow enough learning process without my old head having to deal with learning a whole new language. This was a pleasure to watch without having to google shit like “impedance” As we say in Scotland…… fuckin belter 👌🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

FYI, a receiver is an integrated amp with an AM/FM tuner built in, that's what denotes it as a receiver... it receives AM/FM signals due to having a tuner on board.

hi.. power amp to stereo receiver question.. when hooking up a power amp to a receiver and assume the receiver has preamp/amp in/out connections and there are no AV requirements, just audio. Can you hook up a large amp to the smallest capable receiver? in otherwords if the ext power amp 'replaces' the receivers amp, then the size of the receiver amp shouldnt matter right?
hope this made sense. thanks!

Could I have two sets of front speakers? one being powered from the speaker outputs on the receiver and another being powered by the front pre-out output to a separate amp?

If I have a stereo receiver and a 2channel amp, can I power a pair of speakers with the amp in the receiver and at the same time send signal through the preamp section of said raceiver to the 2channel amp to power another set of speakers?
