Why it surprising?
Why KLM Prefer Airbus A350 Over the Boeing???
The decision to choose Airbus A3 50 instead of KLM's Boeing was surprised mainly because of the long -term relationship between this airline and Boeing.
For decades, the airlines according to the tradition of favorite aircraft of American manufacturers. The evidence is that KLM has operated many Boeing aircraft models, such as 7 3 7, Triple 7 and 7 8 7 Dream Liner, for many years.
And basically, airlines often like to maintain the overall fleet to reduce operating and maintenance costs. By adding A3 50 to his fleet, KLM introduced a new type of aircraft. It is clear that it has the ability to increase the complexity and costs related to pilot training, maintenance and inventory of spare parts. It is like making itself difficult for themself.
Why KLM Prefer Airbus A350 Over the Boeing???
The Air France's fleet has been durable with Airbus aircraft. Therefore, the airlines also chooses A3 50 to show that perhaps the airline has also changed in its comb when exploiting the two manufacturers.
Industry analysts and market followers closely monitor aircraft orders. This A3 50 order may be unexpectedly based on the previous instructions or market expectations of the KLM's future fleet plan. The competition between Airbus and Boeing is very fierce, and large orders from large airlines can be considered as a certification of a manufacturer's product compared to the other manufacturer. The KLM's choice of A3 50 instead of Boeing's equivalent aircraft like 7 8 7 Dreamliner is considered a noticeable victory for Airbus in this competition context. This unexpected change can be seen naturally attract attention and ask questions about the reason behind this decision.

KLM's Douglas DC8, 9's and 10's as well as the MD-11 and Airbus A310's suggest they are not a 'Boeing' airline

Good luck KLM, you have a solid wing which is old style and not carbon fiber, unlike Boeing which is flexible and made of carbon fiber.

Boeing's demise is greatly exaggerated. The world, as it is currently, only has 2 options, and only having one would be a major problem.

777x and Max 10 certification will be a game changer. Once the 777X starts to replace all of the older 777, 747 and 380's Boeing will be fine. Not to mention, they still have a huge backlog of the 737 Max.

At least Garuda Indonesia will be have AIRBUS A350-900/1000 xwb/ulr for the future. I'm already unhappy with all of the BOEING 737 MAX 7, 8, 9 and 10 for Indonesia as the world's biggest muslim population country ever ☪️ like this.
