NEW Airbus A350 Is A PROBLEM For Boeing. Here’s WHY

The A350 is the bombshell that is going to aid Airbus's ongoing onslaught of whatever remains of Boeing’s integrity in the aviation industry. They’ve finally released their secret weapon which comes with tons of pleasant surprises that will win over a majority of Boeing’s loyal customers. So, how the new Airbus A350 is going to end Boeing’s dominance?

The A350 was born at a time when the Airbus was placed under great pressure by its major competitor, Boeing. This story goes back to 2004 when the Airbus A330 family was the rave. It was the model that was bringing in the money for Airbus. Just then, Boeing turned the tide and introduced the Boeing 787 and the 777 models, majorly wide-body aircraft that could carry between 250-300 passengers. Somehow, this factor drew more passengers away from airlines that relied on the smaller Airbus A330 to airlines that had resorted to using the wider-bodied Boeing 787 for long-haul travel.

Airbus hit the mark with the A350, truly a work of art. That's to say the 787 is no slouch either.

The A350 is a masterpiece. I know the divide in the coments so, let me say, I'm an American and grew up as a bit of a boeing fanboy, I admit it. But the A350 is perfection. The 787 is right there with it, though, in a slightly different niche, so as an enthusiast, I love that those two jets can coexist and thrive side by side. I am sad to see the 777 bow out, as IMO it was the greatest widebody twin until the A350.

The A350 is the best looking aircraft imo 😍 As Europeans, we are proud of Airbus 🇪🇺

The reality is that neither side is going to destroy the other because producing aircraft is hard and takes many resources, the backlogs for both companies are insane and how long it takes until you get an aircraft is important for Airlines, so if one has a lot of orders, the other becomes more appealing.

The 787 and the A350 are amazing and beautiful machines.. no one is burying anybody! They are two titans of the industry and they will be there for many decades to come.

End Boeing's dominance? I thought Airbus had already ended it.

Yup. A350 is best looking bird since 757. Used to prefer Boeing but no more. Airbus have a superior product range now, IMHO, of course

There are three types of people in this world. People that love Boeing, people that love Airbus and people that know the difference!! ✈️

Flown the A350 dozens of times but flew SQ23 for the first time in September. A350-900 ULR is a very special plane. Incredible machine

The A350 gets my vote as most beautiful aircraft. I was fortunate enough to fly one one from Newark to Stockholm. It was a great flight with the view of the New York skyline from a window seat, as well as having the next two seats free.

Flew on an A350/1000 late last year..

Awesome flight, great plane..

Unfortunately the normal aircraft on that particular route is the A330/300. Also a great plane, but no A350..

Recently flew from North America to Asia, partly on a triple seven and partly on a 350 (same airline). The 350 was more comfortable.

Airbus has it all over Boeing!!! As an American, I used to say "If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going!", but now I say "If it's Boeing, I ain't going!" Airbus definitely nailed it with the A350.

This is not directly about 787/A350 but when I learnt how much development and even current construction of the 787 is done in Europe, I was amazed. Also the fact the A350 and 787 have their composite fuselage made partly in the same place in Italy. I knew the tail of A350 was made here in Finland but to know that Boeing's flagship is so much European blew my mind (even the tinted windows are European lol).

Boeing's worst enemy is called Boeing. An unfortunate predicament, because they used to be a hell of an aircraft manufacturer. I still say Boeing's 737-300, 747-400 and 777 are the greatest commercial aircraft ever built. (w/ the now defunct Lockheed Tristar as the 'honourable mention'). Boeing might have done itself in w/ the MAX fiasco.

787 is really not a bad airplane.... But its really alone in Boeing's line up. Airbus got a pretty much complete lineup from 110 seat A220 to a 350 seat A350-900 with the largest gap Between the A321XLR to the A330-800Neo of only 50 seats. Also A220 and A350 is totaly up to date models while A320 and A330 neo series is mostly up to date.

Looking on boeings series its pretty much anorectic. The 737 max is smaler than the A321XLR, but not as economical as the A220. The 787 is a greate aircraft, but also significantly larger than the 737. Also the max10 coming 2500km short of the XLR, being a but to short for both trans continental and intercontinental flights.

While the 777 is stacket right on top of the 787 just like the A350 is to the A330neo... The scale of economy is in the 777x case of set by the lower fuel economy of the aging frame.

While A319neo technically have this problem to the A220-300... and the A320neo will have it to the A220-500... the A320 still have several key benefit like type rating that 777 really don´t have to the 787.

The 737 have also totally grewn out of the regional market where it have its origin. The A320 was really never a regional aircraft, while it have been used for that in some places. Now Airbus also have the far superior A220 as a regional to mid distance aircraft.

With that said... A330neo is selling ok.. but not great. Airbus need to think of a replacement.

A320 series is selling great, but to be fair, that have a lot to do with boeings problem, and it won´t last for ever. To my opinion the A220 is the superior aircraft, and the only reason why A320 is really just doing more orders currently is due to lacking A220-500 and there being a much larger stock of A320 family. Look at the A320 CEO family. 80, 1500, 4800, 1800 orders. Barley any A318... So airbus killed if off.. What about the NEO family... 85, 4000, 4600... Now the A319 doing barley any order. A220-300 have pretty much wiped the A319 market clean.

A220-500 will eventually clean up the A320neo market. Airbus biggest threat is airbus.

Don´t get me wrong. 787 is a brilliant aircraft. Airbus can afford A220 digging in to the A320 series. Actually i would say it benefit them (and to my understanding the A220 is cheaper to build). Boeing got one modern airliner, 2 conversion that for what it looks like today, both are sub par.

Airbus got 2 modern airliners. And 2 conversions that are decent. Yes sure, A330neo is not selling great. But its the one in the airbus family that stands up to a superior boeing.
