Did you hear about the homeopath that drank a glass of water? He overdosed.

They are not placebo effect. They worked on my dogs. I have used these remedies for many years and they work regardless of other opinions. I do not need to have my own freedom removed because of other peoples opinions. Same goes for many substances including Cannabis. Leave me to my own as I will do for you.

Just wanna make a point according to my knowledge and research on Homeopathy for about 4 years
1. Vaccines works on a principle on similar that means the viruses that caused the disease are given in injectable form. The viruses may be live or dead, just so our body immunity system is trigger to make antibodies against it. In short we are given the same disease but decreasing its power so that the dose is in control of the physican and that works, majority of us immune by certain. However by continuously triggering our immune system by multiple vaccines can cause side effect but most of the country government are control this fact and making sure that much vaccine should be given which have high prevalence of disease in they're geographical region.
2. Homoepathy works on the principle "simila" which means the medicines which have ability to produce sign and symptoms in health state in potent form when given to patient which have same sign and symptoms in disease state can cure the disease making sure that majority of the symptoms of the patient should match to given medicines. The fact i like about homoepathy is that only one medicines is prescribe at a given time, so that our immune system are trigger and develop counter action to the diseases
3. Homoepathy in India is practice and by research I found out that homeopath here give medicines is low and medium potency they won't dilute the medicines substance until they think the disease is not showing a clear picture where else many other country homoepath dilute too much and repetition of doses is too less. The reason behind this in India homoepathy is been thought for 5 years before practising starts and they also been thought the practice of medicines as subject. The homeopath in India knows the knowledge of disease and medicines, it's very popular in India also because the medicines are low rate and suitable for India economy
4. While I research, I think public health become more like marketing thing. We use to see doctors if we get acne breakouts but now just buy products and more products. No doubt some pharmaceutical company are billion dollars and public will blindly follow them what they say due to lack of knowledge. While allopathy have side effects which are not much talk about and also why allopath use palliative mode of treatment for reversible state of disease.
5. Health is state of mind and your mind and your thinking is enough to bring you down to diseases state, now todays generation talking more about mental health and finding a solution. I observe when you go to homoepath they'll ask you your life situation and try to find out the cause before diagnosis. Talking to doctor about your circumstances gives much relief to oneself.
6. I believe people should question each and every single way of medicines practice whether it's homeopathy, allopathy or something else and research about the treatment that your given by your doctor, search the information about medicines in detail they're side effects, uses, action. People should question the government health sector and when more people question and do research and work on it we'll know the difference between right and wrong.
Thank you, if you have any question i'll answer it, please do reply.
Take care of yourself.

I'm in total agreement on this coverage of homeopathy, the issue of it being offered at a university. I'm also a very big skeptic of homeopathy. I do take issue with using this story to make disparaging remarks about Reiki. I'm not without criticism of Reiki, mainly the way the classes are marketed and titles are sold, like 'Reiki Master', but I believe it has legitimacy depending on the practitioner. I also believe that it can easily be defined as 'spiritual' and has no place in a public university. As far as I know, there is no issue with public funds used for training, if there is, that should be exposed.

I think a good example for showing why 'energy work' or natural healing should not be dismissed without a well balanced discussion is in the case of acupuncture. It wasn't that long ago that it was dismissed as primitive superstition but after years of effort to prove effectiveness through Western medicine models, group studies, etc, it is now a licensed profession in most US states, it's even covered by some insurance. It's based on an energetic meridian system that cannot be proven to exist, healing based on a belief in an energetic system that cannot be detected by scientific method. Acupuncture can also easily be defined as 'spiritual', a belief in energetics. There is also a connection to Eastern religious beliefs about the energetic body. Just like Reiki. Eastern and Western medicine can be incompatible sometimes. Eastern medicine can be difficult to comprehend for many Westerners, but the bridge between the two approaches has been building for years. The popularity is growing because it can work. There are also charlatans out there.

Reiki practitioners and other energy workers like myself, a craniosacral therapist, have the responsibility to prove effectiveness in the way that acupuncture has been proven. Craniosacral therapy originated with the osteopathic tradition, osteopaths are considered physicians in the US with the same status as medical doctors despite some of their methods being seen as pseudo-science. Jungian psychology is also seen as pseudo-science by critics, a belief in a collective unconscious for example, something that cannot be proven by scientific method yet the Jungian approach has helped many people. Efforts are underway to prove effectiveness of alternative healing, at least with craniosacral therapy, but it takes years.

No responsible alternative healing practitioners would discourage people from seeing a medical doctor, there may be rare instances of this occurring but it is far from the norm. There would be no shortage of critics within these practices if cases like this are exposed.

Quite often our clients are people who have tried Western medicine for chronic problems and have given up, some of these people dismissed as hypochondriacs by medical doctors because the cause of their problem cannot be found. Sometimes we're able to help, sometimes not, but no harm is done.

I think it's unfair to dismiss it outright as nonsense without providing well balanced opinion. Informed debate. You may even be trying to tie it into the dangerous anti-vaccination movement, I'm not entirely sure. I see no connection. If you can find a couple of Reiki fans who are also anti-vaccine people, I don't think that proves much. They might also believe in the benefits of aerobic exercise, this doesn't make every exercise enthusiast an anti-vaxxer. I really enjoy The David Pakman Show but this sort of opinionated, one sided coverage is reminiscent of right-wing radio. Frankly, you sound grossly uninformed from my perspective. You can do better!

If you want to see some great debunking of homeopathy check out Myles Power’s YouTube channel. He is a scientist (organic chemist) and has a dozen videos about homeopathy

I'm not a homeopathy supporter by any means. But I think we all need to realize one simple point. Why, when more people than ever are getting flu shots, are we now seeing flu epidemics worsening year after year? I'm just saying that the profit motive in the pharmaceutical industry is highly questionable with respect to public health. The sicker we are, the more money they make. Healthcare needs to be socialized. This is one of those areas where the market just doesn't work for the common good.

Mikao Usui invented reiki and died at age 60 of a stroke. I don't think it worked for him.

Hopefully they cancel the rest of bogus and worthless degrees like the arts, humanities, and social "sciences"

The sad thing is that they ever offered the program to begin with. They're simply correcting a terrible mistake.

It should be emphasized that the program never actually ran: it was offered for this fall but cancelled before any students attended any classes.

Great, because medicine is just medicine, no such thing as "alternative" medicine lol

Georgian isn't a community college, you still have to pay tuition, nothing is subsidized by the community. Canadian colleges and universities are named as such for the difference in diploma/degree you get from them. Colleges are mostly for trades and introductory programs while universities focus on the sciences and higher forms of education (much more book based). Also the cost to attend University is much higher than college but college is by no means cheap.
