Hey guys, and welcome back to the channel. Today, I’m going to compare two popular ecommerce platforms, Shopify and Squarespace, for you to see which one is best for your business needs. Okay, so, both are excellent platforms to help scale your business, but it’s important that you invest in the one that’s best for you. And by the way, If at any point you’d like to check out Shopify, be sure to click on the link in the description. I managed to find a great deal to get Shopify for $1/month for the first 3 months, and you can also get a 3-day free trial and explore all its functionalities for yourself. So first, if you’re unclear about what Shopify and Squarespace are, let me break it down for you. Shopify is an online store platform where you can start any e-commerce business. And they have many features across various plans to help you with different tasks, such as inventory management, creating and editing products, managing staff, and more. Now on the other hand, Squarespace is a website builder. Yes, of course, you can make an online store on Squarespace, but that isn’t the primary function it was designed for. This means that Shopify and Squarespace have different primary functions. Shopify helps you create an online store for a scalable business, while Squarespace is a website builder with online store integrations as an additional feature. It was mainly created as a tool to help with content and establish an online presence for your brand. Alright, now that we have a basic idea of what both platforms offer, let’s take a look at the pricing. Firstly, Shopify has a Basic Shopify Plan for $39/month, and as you scale up, you can easily upgrade to the Shopify Plan at $105/month and then the Advanced Plan at $399/month. Each upgrade unlocks more features, which improve customer experience as well as provide you with analysis reports. You can also use Shopify Lite to only add a “buy” button to your website for $9/month if you don’t need a whole online store. This allows you to use Shopify Payments and check out with Shopify without building a whole website. Meanwhile, if we look at Squarespace, you can get the Personal plan at $16/month, but note that you cannot create an online store with this plan. Okay, the last thing I want to discuss is SEO, or search engine optimization. A quick definition for SEO is that SEO is a strategy that uses keywords and high-quality content to increase your website or online store’s visibility. Having a good SEO strategy helps you rank higher in the search engine results pages, exposing you to more potential buyers. And the good news is both Shopify and Squarespace give you integrated SEO support! But of course, there are a few differences. Firstly, Shopify works with page loading time, responsiveness, and visual stability, which are Google’s Core Web Vitals requirements. What’s great is that Shopify suggests titles and metadata based on content, saving you time. The social media integration options also increase visibility and ensure your online store shows up towards the top of search results in Google and other search engines. Although Squarespace doesn’t offer suggestions, Google Analytics is available with all the plans, along with social media integration. So, while you need to come up with your own metadata, you can still gain insights into how your content is performing. But, as a user, you cannot use a third-party SEO app, which is another limitation. At the end of the day, whichever platform you use depends entirely on your goals. If you want a static, descriptive website to tell potential clients and customers about yourself, Squarespace is a good place to start. However, if you’re looking for an e-commerce platform and something to specifically help you build an online presence for your store, Shopify is your best option. And that’s it for this video. If you found it helpful, then please leave a like and subscribe for more videos like this. You can drop any questions in the comments below, and I’ll be happy to answer them! And remember to use the link in the description to get your first three days free with Shopify, and then $1 per month for three months! Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you in the next one.

I've found Shopify's app store to be a game changer, allowing me to add functionalities as my business grows. Squarespace's templates, though, are a work of art.
