2022 Honda Cub C125 Review

The Honda Cub is probably the most Iconic motorcycle ever built in line with the Goldwing. I was given the Honda Cub C125 for a few weeks to cast my eye over it and give it my own independent review.

These are my thought's on this motorcycle (Yes that is what it is... a motorcycle!! : ))

Please take a look at this review and let me know what you think of the bike. While you are here, I could do with more subscribers so hit the "like" button and subscribe, would be huge for me!!

The Honda Super Cub is a popular and iconic motorcycle that has been in production since the 1950s. It is known for its simple and practical design, ease of use, and fuel efficiency. The 2022 Honda Super Cub continues the tradition while incorporating modern features. Here are some key details about the 2022 Honda Super Cub:

1. Engine: The 2022 Super Cub is powered by a 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It delivers smooth and reliable power suitable for urban commuting and light riding.

2. Design: The Super Cub features a classic step-through design with a low seat height, making it accessible for riders of all sizes. It has a clean and retro-inspired appearance, with round headlights and a simple, uncluttered bodywork.

3. Transmission: It comes with a semi-automatic transmission, commonly referred to as a "Honda Cub" transmission. This system does not require manual clutch operation but still allows you to shift gears with your foot. This makes it easy to ride and suitable for beginners.

4. Fuel Efficiency: The Super Cub is known for its excellent fuel efficiency. With its small engine size and efficient design, it can achieve impressive mileage, making it an economical choice for daily commuting.

5. Features: While the Super Cub maintains its classic charm, the 2022 model incorporates modern features. It includes LED lighting for enhanced visibility and a digital instrument panel that provides essential information such as speed, odometer, fuel level, and more.

6. Suspension and Brakes: The Super Cub is equipped with a telescopic front fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear, offering a comfortable and balanced ride. It has a single-disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear, providing adequate stopping power for urban riding.

7. Practicality: The Super Cub is designed to be practical and versatile. It has a small storage compartment on the leg shield for small items like a phone or wallet. Additionally, it offers a relaxed riding position, making it suitable for daily commuting or running errands.

The 2022 Honda Super Cub continues to be a reliable and efficient motorcycle with a timeless design. Its simplicity, ease of use, and practicality make it a popular choice for riders around the world, whether they are beginners or experienced riders looking for a fun and reliable daily commuter.

Thanks E.R : )

Do not be put off by it's size, I used my new 2022 cub for a Scotland trip from Reading to John O Groats and back, 1710 miles plus camping gear, the Applecross pass is a doddle on such a light bike and the North coast road which is mainly single track was easy as being slim you can squeeze through most of it without using passing places. I got about 110 mpg and planned my fuel stops between 80 and 90 miles between fills plus I carried a spare 2 ltrs which I did not use. Motorways are possible just tuck behind a truck doing their speed limit and make sure they know you are there if you are touring make sure you carry 19mm and 14mm ring spanners for adjusting your chain I did mine twice and lubed it daily.

A marvellous machine for pottering around on and commuting, ER. I remember how unbreakable the C50's and C70's were in the 1960's. The MPG on the Super Cub is better than the 60's models which shows how fuel efficiency has greatly improved.

My current ride is a 2021 R1250GS. It all started 50 years ago with a Norman Nippy! Along the way I owned a C70 Cub. As you say, Cubs have a certain "zen" a relaxed, back to basics feel - gears and a drum brake! Love it!. Keep the reviews coming.

Lovely bike that older riders have all owned it seems in their beginnings. £3800 seems a lot until you think cheaper than most e bikes. I prefer the sh125 as the belt drive removes a lot of maintenance. On my anf125 I used to have to take the chain off and soak in paraffin every 3-4 months even with a chain guard which is an utter pain to remove to lube chain. Belt change on sh is 12000 mile interval. U can understand in foreign climes these are the best mode of transport. Lovely review. Govt should incentivise these for young people

Great review, thank you very much. I want one. I'd buy one new but can't stand the stealth bomber grey! Which is all we seem to have in the uk.. Hopefully they bring some more colours out. Thanks again

I’d change the pillion squab for a top box and add a clear screen for wind/weather protection. With petrol prices being what they are, I wouldn’t be the slightest bit embarrassed about riding one.

Really interesting review, always wanted to try one, almost got something like this after my CBT but decided to get something more standard. Iconic bike and would love to have one one day! Thank you for a great review 😁🖖🏼

Absolutely luv it ER I started my road riding on a green and white one but it was the 50cc with a straight through pipe thrashed it everywhere and never did any maintenance I am ashamed to say I was only 16 that's my excuse .I swapped an Ariel Arrow 200 two stroke for it cos it was to big and to fast at the time as I only ever had ridden a pushbike before that .Paid £18 for the arrow and did a straight swap with a friend of mine at the time .This one looks fantastic in matt black and so similar to my old bus with the exception of the disc and forks are different now but everything else just looks the same and no kick start of course 😄good one mate well done 👌Peachy

I had a honda C90 as my first nr Aldershot at the time - I went all over the place on that thing Petticoat Lane Market, Stone Henge and Bournemouth to name a few - cheap as chips to run, and mine was the glorious brown colour - my mates were on Honda SS 50 ' or Yammi FSIE's but I didn't care - you can see why they have sold millions of them.

Thanks for the review. I found they loosen up after 500 to 1000 km and I can keep up with 100 kmh traffic pretty well. Unless there's a hill or headwind of course ;) They're great fun and you get smiles and admiring looks wherever you go.

It does have a clutch that you can graduate to smooth your shifts - it’s activated by the foot pedal and with a blip on a downshift you can be silky smooth. It’s centrifugal so you don’t have to worry about it, but when using the box you can get quite a lot of control

I’ve just bought a brand new made in Thailand C110 from Seven Seas Motors for £3150. Much more like the original Supercub as it has wire wheels and drum brakes. Fabulous bikes.

Excellent review. I think this version is phenomenal looking. Agree 100% on keeping this bike as is transmission wise .

Been tempted to try one of these and compare it to my 1974 C90, but I doubt I would buy one (I'm a cheapskate and don't like depreciation lol) so it's nice to get your input on it. :) *EDIT* I'm quite surprised Honda UK brought over the updated dual seat version as supposedly the previous C125 didn't sell as well as they hoped which is partly why the CT125 didn't come over here.
