Back to work on Donald's new Ford 3000. When we bought the tractor we knew the injection pump was toast, so we're putting a new one on it. If you're thinking of undertaking this job yourself, check this video out. If you have questions please let us know in comments below. Thanks for taking your time to watch our content!

Welcome to the American Tradesmen Channel! First of all, we appreciate you taking your time to check out our content. We put a lot of thought into our channel before we ever made a single video. You're not going to hear profanity on our channel. What you will hear is a little humor and a little how-to. There's literally no telling what we'll be doing, we dabble in a little of everything. We can guarantee you will see plenty of tractors, bulldozers, excavators, trucks, diesel stuff, welding, and repair videos. There's a wide array of equipment showcased, anything from John Deere, International, Farmall, Ford, Komatsu, and the list goes on. Andy drives a Dodge 12 valve Cummins diesel, Matt is currently in a big block Chevy (but that will probably change). If this seems like stuff you're interested in, check us out! You're doing it all wrong. You're suppose to have a case of beer and girls in bikinis while working. Thanks for the great video. I can now change my pump and have the tractor run right. You are a smart guy.

This was a great video but, you should have provided the torque spec for 20 - 25 ft. lbs. for the Injection pump to gear bolts and 10 - 23 ft. lbs. for the fuel pump mounting bolts for those of us that don't have that experienced touch.

Hang on to the original cav pump so you can have it rebuild at a shop that uses oem parts, because that Amazon pump ( probably made in Romania) won't last anywhere close to as long as the original.

When you have your injection pump rebuilt (by a reputable fuel shop), you know exactly what you're getting. I do a lot of business with repair shops that have gone the Amazon rout for injection pumps. It's hit and miss. If I made my money as a tractor mechanic, I wouldn't put my reputation an aftermarket Amazon pump.

Hey great video. Me and my dad bought a 135 with a bad injection pump. Same CAV style. Was nervous but the video helps tremendously. Same process other than massey pump is on the left side. Also have a 4000 ford diesel so this video assures I can change a CAV pump lol thanks again for the good informational video

Great video..I would have liked to see you bleed the pump. Anyway I bought a 65 4500 backhoe with the same engine for a thousand dollars. It's in good shape still pretty tight because it sat half it's life. The guy i bought it from could not figure out what was wrong with the motor. I purchased all the manuals on the tractor i could find.. It had water in the oil and oil in the water. Took off the head and the gasket was total garbage. I took the head to the machine shop and had it redone and they shaved the head also. I brought up the fact that shaving the head too much might cause problems because it said so in the manual. They said they only took off 001 of an inch. I found a gasket set (there are about 3 or so different head gaskets) When the head was off i filled the block all the way to the top with water to see if any ran out the oil drain hole. nothing came out for a month long so i put the head on and torqued in down properly and had the same problems. during this time i was talking to every mechanic i could find and asking what the problem might be. most of the ford EXPERTS told me pinhole in the block. But the 65's were cast in the U.S.A. and not prone to bad castings like the 70's models. Now all my cylinders were filling with water. I took the head back to the machine shop and had it pressure tested, And i noticed the tips of the head bolts were a little flat " Oh no it can't be that" and again I said the book says you can't shave too much off the head without retapping the head holes.By the way the hole in the head stops at the threads so you have to drill it out also So i put some washers on the headbolts And the problem is fixed! No telling how many people messed with this tractor before I got my chance. Please pass it on.

Don’t know if you give free advice but here we go… I have a ‘ 74ish Ford 3000 diesel that won’t start after sitting up 5-6 months. Got fuel to all 3 injectors but haven’t pulled them out. Should I pull them and see if they are clogged? Also could it be the regulator that is attached to the back of the instrument panel? Thanks for any suggestions. PS. Can’t find a “tractor” mechanic within 100 miles☹️

What were you tightening up on top at the very end when she was cranking it? Do you have to bleed the lines or anything?
