━━━━━━━━━━━━━

In this video, we explore how to develop limb independence and improvisation in drumming. We start with the ostinato, a repetitive pattern like eighth notes, and practice maintaining it while engaging in other activities to develop independence. Using techniques like clapping, moving objects, or signing your name with your snare hand, you can practice thinking beyond the ostinato. Then, we progress to playing along with permutation charts that vary in complexity and tempo. We continue by applying these steps to different limbs, such as the bass drum, and work on short-long note combinations to enhance versatility. By alternating patterns and grooves, you'll gain the ability to play any style with any limb, improving your overall drumming skills. After demonstrating the steps to developing limb independence, the remainder of the video provides examples for practicing limb independence.

Underrated tips right here! Never heard of just doing something with other limbs while playing the ostinato, everybody just talks about playing but you really dove deeper
