Solid choices, albeit I'd disagree on the EQ3-2 (second option). That mount is _fine_ as a visual mount, but not much beyond that. Using it for astrophotography is going to be an exercise in frustration (speaking from experience). Bare minimum mount (outside of the Star Adventurer sky tracker, mentioned in this video) would be a HEQ-5 class mount. One that was designed with goto and guiding in mind.

The first scope I bought was a Celestron NexStar 130SLT, Still have it and use it occasionally. The one I've used the most was a basic 10" Dobsonian reflector. We had about 20 of these from various manufacturers. Personally, I find I had more enjoyment and satisfaction with the 10". Using star charts, star finders, and finger/hand measurements to find objects.

Thanks D2EA FELIX lol

This is actually very useful info for me.

My father uses a 300x vortex spotting scope to look out of our atmosphere. It works good, but ive been wanting a proper telescope for some time. The mount info you discussed is especially useful info. 👍👍

These were really helpful suggestions, thank you! I have fun with my $150 3" reflector on a manual equatorial mount, but the Dobsonian with the push-to mount sounds really appealing. Most of my astronomy is done right outside my house, so the bulkiness would not be a problem.

I would definitely go with the Bresser setup with the nicer Mount. My plan for my first scope is unfortunately way more expensive haha. Starting with an EQ6 mount!

Really interested in telescope camera bundle for astrophotography. The ones available on the market are too weak.

I'm looking at TWO scopes to start out with : the seestar S50 for deepsky photography AND the bresser 6 inch tabletop Dobson for visual.I live in a bortle 6 area and in a small city so my criteria were it has to be light and extremely fast to setup and easy to use for a complete newbie. The only other one I'm considering is either the 6 se ( well above 1000 though ) or the starsense dx6 ( also by Celestron)

I would like to buy a telescope for kids (7+). In general they will use it under adult supervision (with some DSLR background but new to telescopes world). Which are some good options?
