In this video, we asked people to send in their assumptions about clinical psychology and clinical psychologists and had an informal chat about whether we agreed with it or not. Totally not factually based or authoritative in any way, just something lighthearted and fun whilst we have our Saturday morning coffee. So grab your cup of tea and enjoy!

☆ About Me ☆
My name's Aika, I'm 23, Hong Kong Chinese & I'm a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at Oxford. I am starting my first year of the doctorate degree and hoping to document this 3 (+) year journey. I hope to de-mystify the clinical psychology route in the UK, increase the representation of diversity in the field and make Clinical Psychology and Oxbridge feel just a little bit more accessible and human if I can.

Hello Aika, I'm not sure if I should be posting this here or in Instagram or in a message, but I would be very interested to see a video about career paths one can follow with a psychology degree, other than clinical, forensic, educational psychology etc. For example social work. I think it may be interesting for other people too to find ways out of this super competitive field!

Another great video. 加油!Question from a fellow Oxford dweller. My wife is super interested in pursuing a career in clinical psychology but is worried because English is not her first language (She is Chinese). She feels she will not be able to compete with all the native speakers when it comes to both job and doctorate course applications. Can you tell us are there many psychologists on your doctorate or in the places that you've worked whose English is very good but not perfect like a native speaker?

My study background is a bachelor's in Computer science and now I am studying a master's in cognitive science with a specialization in cognitive psychology and neuroscience. I took some technical classes too but I enjoyed these two majors so much and in the future, I want to work as a clinical psychologist. My next plan is to do PhD as well from any German university. But every time I discuss this with any senior I get the same reply that I cannot be a clinical psychologist. Would you guide me on what should i do or any other field I should search about if I can't be a clinical psychologist.?I just want a bright future i struggled a lot in finding my interest. And now I need help from seniors.
