Making a drypoint print

At the moment I’m exploring some different techniques besides my usual linocuts. I have tried drypoint in the past and always enjoyed it, so I thought I would give it another shot. I got to try out the tiniest press by @openpressproject , kindly lent by @grafischatelierdenbosch. I even printed something with a wine bottle so I’ll be exploring bigger prints too!

I’m working on a little personal project where I’m inspired by my daily walks in nature, or as google translate tells me “the reclaimed land” (polder 😉). On almost every walk I see a heron, or two actually! I call them Japie and Sjaak. Japie is always at the same spot. I also think herons are beautiful birds so the next few months I might get a little obsessive about them. Or... maybe not? I have so many ideas! This is just the start.

What I love about this technique is that every print is unique and vastly different. There's lots of room for experimenting!

I will soon make a proper video about this :)
