Now we just need a 5k display retrofitted onto it!

Great job as always Mr. Retro.

I am glad someone else has verbalized the G4 M4 connection. I thought I was the only one! 😂

I’m one of those people who thinks the iMac G4 is still the greatest desktop design that Apple ever made.

This reminds me of a build years and years ago someone did in a standard PC case with a Pico-ITX board. They gutted an old 230w PSU, fit the Pico-ITX board inside, then fit that inside of a standard ATX case and hung a small disco ball in the now-empty PC case. All the IO of course went out the back of the PSU housing, and it ran (IIRC) WinXP - "Powered by Disco!" was the guy's tag on it.

The iMac G4 was the first family computer we owned. I remember when my dad took it out of the box and turned it on. The gorgeous display, Mac OS X with its highly detailed, fluid UI — it felt like something from the future.

Remember, the latest version of Windows at the time was still XP. PCs still felt stuck in the ’90s aesthetically, whereas the iMac felt like someone had traveled 50 years into the future and brought back a computer.

I think the iMac G5 that came out afterward was a huge regression in terms of design

I cannot begin to express how much I need an M4 Cube.

Now if only Juicy Crumb would bring out a version with internal ports too...

That's a nice double upgrade right there, the G4 got better hardware and the M4 got better power buttons.

That is freakin' awesome. The G4 iMacs still look ridiculously cool, even over 20 years later.

Once I saw that the Mac mini m4 existed and how small it was, I immediately was waiting for this to come out

What a GLORIOUS transformation. For several years I used a G4 like that (but with a smaller screen) and loved the design. You have brought something delightful back to life.

Now you need an M4 upgraded Intel DTK (which was originally P4 powered.) G4-P4-M4 trifecta!

Agree on the screen quality of these older apple LCDs. I use an early Cinema Display (acrylic body version) on my retro gaming rig, and it still impresses me every time I switch it on.

I had a 17” G4 iMac, such a great design! 80 Gb hard drive lol.

I had a dream where someone put an M4 in the G4 Cube, and then another person did a G4 Cube stand for the M4 Mac Mini. Wild to see this combo not appear in my dreams though.

As someone who likes to case mod stuff for funzies, this is something that I’d legitimately use on the daily, as opposed to being largely a showpiece

Actually there seems to be more than enough space inside the base to fit one or two SSD inside the base. So if someone wants to upgrade a G4 to an M4, the cheapest Mini M4 with only 256GB might be enough for programs, if you add 2 or 4 GB of "external" (seen from the mini, but internal to the G4 base) storage for data.
Also much more easy to upgrade later, soon as bigger SSD-storage is available.
