This war has become a runaway train headed for a train wreak. It is escalating. It reminds me of the Book of Ether. The Book is about two factions fighting for power and too proud to stop. Their entire civilizationn destroys itself. The west keeps supplying it's proxy the Ukrainian army with training and equipment to win the conventional war. Russia is like a wounded bear. The pride of the Russian navy is on the bottom of the Black Sea. Putin's beloved bridge is bombed, the Russian invasion force has been destroyed, and the victorious Ukrainian army now invades Russian speaking lands. Can you continue to poke the bear? Russian battlefield doctrine calls for use of theater nuclear weapons under specific conditions. Those conditions may be in our future irregardless of what the west says. Has Putin drawn a line in the sand. People seem to ignore that Putin also has a vast nuclear deterrent force ready to launch immediately. Putin also has allies with similar nuclear assets that don't like the west either. I feel like I did in 1957 when we practiced duck and cover in school. Nobody in the west will settle for anything less than completely defeating Russia and I think by that time Putin's line in the sand will have been trampled.
