Switzerland, Austria and Croatia have confirmed their first cases of the virus in their countries, and the number of confirmed dead rises in Italy.

Angelo Borrelli, the chief of Italy's Civil Protection agency, said the number of virus cases in the country increased 45% in the last day and there have now been 11 deaths.

The four latest deaths to be reported in Italy were all elderly - three over the age of 80 from Lombardy, the worst impacted region, and a 76-year-old woman in Veneto, another region in the north hit by the virus.

Quarantine should be 40 days, it’s the origin of the word ffs. 2 weeks is not enough, unless your goal is to spread the disease, it can take 27 days for symptoms to emerge.

Here is how it should work: Countries who don’t currently have outbreaks should lock their borders down and only permit international travel to other countries who are doing the same thing. Do this now or risk losing more countries to what could otherwise be a large safe list of countries if enacted now. I.E. travel only between USA-AUS-UK-NZ-CAN do it now before it is too late to travel anywhere at all.

People who get coronavirus, should stay there. Not go to a different country and give it to other people. Not closing borders is depending on us now. If they don't close, we have seconds to live.

Yeah some of my school has arrived from northern Italy and people have been ill but many have been in school so it probably has spread and all other schools have been shut down but mine is just staying on category 2
My mum was like “everyone else is taking precautions but ur school is for some reason doing nothing so by the time they wake up and decide to not take the risk u will all have it and be passing it on to everyone they see” 😂
