I sold my 2 shops, transmission parts store and core business in 2005 and retired. The transmission business was very good to me and I like watching videos from operations like yours where you have your act together. Everyone has opinions on upgrades and fixes for things like the crack in the case. I won't comment on any of that because the business is largely made up of doing what's right for the customer and using best practices to put the transmission back on the road. You did a great job of explaining why you did each upgrade and how it affected the transmission. Enjoyed watching this.

Awesome 48RE rebuild video. I've watched it a few times and learned more with each visit.

I love videos like this. You get to see the whole step and work that goes into a transmission.

Automatic transmissions are about the only car work I wont tackle. I'll gladly pay guys like your shop do to that work for me. Thanks for the video!

Great video! I remember watching my dad rebuild many Torqueflights back in the day, using a 15 gallon drum as a jig to load the front end. The tube gig you have is great!

My friends Dodge with the 68rfe had the internal filter fall down and it destroyed his pressures and ate up the clutches within a couple of days time. Its great seeing people take care of the little things so stupid things like that dont happen

great vid.. ONly thing I'd say is I'd tap out that cracked part before the case goes for cleaning, though it's good to see how to do it if you have to do it in the truck! I'm planning on rebuilding a 47RH here in a while for a first gen, so it'll probably be equivalent to a towmaster, a few basic upgrades

This is why a good mechanic is invaluable. He's a wealth of knowledge. Especially for being so young.

Absolutely amazing video. Everything was explained exceptionally well and made sense. If you guys were close I would without a doubt have you do mine. I have an 05 with 250k with what I believe to be original trans. 2 long owner all stock truck well maintained. No issues yet but I am about to start plowing with the truck and towing 6000-10000 lb on a fairly reg basis. Hoping to get it rebuilt before I break it

Man ol Man Just watched this video. I have been getting the royal run around about my 48re in a 2005 Ram 3500. Dodge dealer charged me 300 to check why my truck takes a while to move after its been sitting and they had no clue. Somebody else want to charge me 6500 to go through my tranny. After this video I know what to do. Great video. Good explanations.

I found that q-tips with a little grease or whatever on the ends works really good for getting the shavings out if you have to tap it ❤❤❤ i havent done as many as you guys by any means but just a helpful tip ❤

Now i know where im getting my new 48re from. Thankfully mine hasnt gotten too bad yet. But my truck was an old farm truck when i bought it, and idk how well it was taken care of for the first 250k miles. But in the last 80k miles since ive owned my truck ive noticed trans fluid leaks and some seals going out. To include the rear main that needs done and the transmission just started having a strange issue where it acts like 3rd gear doesnt exist. (It stays in 2nd until about 2500rpm then seems to bypass 3rd for a brief moment right into 4th.) Similar issue when slowing down it will drop almost down to 6-700rpm then hit 2nd. No rough shifting just seems like 3rd gear doesnt exist.

Great video .. have 2013 and 2004 Cummins engines and auto transmissions - I would box mine up and send mine to your business mainly for the mods you do and the way you rebuild.. However, once it go rebuilt I probably couldn't afford to take it out of hock after that>>> LOL!

Great video. Thanks. I'm now convinced the transmission shop that rebuilt my 48re was not as thorough and slapped my transmission back together like a cheap lego set.
