On “My Car Story” we're in Rosemont IL at the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals on 11-21-19.

We’re looking at a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro in Blue Paint. The car features the 427 CI ZL1 V8 all aluminum engine.

The car's Owner is Eddie Martin. Eddie’s had this car since 1976. Eddie shares when he bought the car it was challenging to verify it was ZL1, and after years of research he was finally able to verify this is a car with a very special engine. This car sounds GREAT!

Wow! Owned since ‘76. “That is a good sound Eddy!” I’ll second that! Love that he kept the Day 2 touches as this pinnacle specimen is Gold in any presentation. Amazed about the Jeep and a trailer trek, lol, (DOT roadside inspections aside ;-). Thx Lou...

Eddie was smiling from ear to ear. If I had that car, I would be too!! Excellent Camaro and excellent coverage, Lou!

Love it, Lou! Absolutely Glorioso! My neighbor had the standard Z 28, same year and color, but I believe it had a 327 or 350, I cannot remember anymore, as I was six years old at the time . Thanks for sharing this deliciously wonderful car! It’s owner is a very fortunate person. What a great way to ring in 2020. Thanks again Lou, always look forward to your posts.

I remember seeing a car identical to that on one of those TV auctions in like 2006 or 7, right around there and it sold for like 3 million dollars. It was the most expensive car at the auction. That was on the Speed Channel.

Awesome 69 ZL1 Camaro! Those engines are no joke. I put a ZL1 cam in my 427, used a pair of those Winters aluminum heads, only 10.5 compression and a factory GM aluminum intake manifold and got my Camaro to run an 11.83 @ 116 mph in the 1/4 mile. 😎🏁

These car's are special. My first muscle car that I bought new back in 92 is my 25th Anniversary camero Z28 and I still own it today with just 16thousand original miles on it. Everyone thinks I just own mustangs and shelbys. As crazy as it sounds my camero is the last car to go in my collection. Basically I will never sell the car.

Eddie is a great guy too! I've been lucky enough to take a ride to the drag strip in Collinsville, Il. for the SuperCar reunion in Eddie's ZL-1. Have video of it as well. This Camaro couldn't have found a better caretaker than Eddie (and Donna) ! BTW, the car next to Eddie's is Larry Christiansen's 1969 Pilot Z28. Larry knows a ton about Camaro's-and is a friend as well.

There weren’t all that many ‘60s pony or muscle cars that would actually be considered pretty fast by today’s performance car standards. This car is definitely one!

Wow! Another rare find! You just don't see the real deal ones too often. It's so nice to see one here. Thanks, Lou!

One of the best looking cars ever produced. Brings back happy memories. At one point my family had three of these. Dad had a basic 8 cylinder with vinyl top. One brother had a SS and another had a bright yellow RS with hideaway headlights
